Yeah, we noticed Tank was holding up the gate to Sivala in Kubinen last night. So three other friends and I went to go tangle with him. By the time we got to the gate Tank wasn't there, figuring he had move to another gate we search the rest in the system. Didn't find him at any of them so we decided to head back to the Sivala gate and camp for him.
We weren't there more than a minute before he showed up. Three of us couldn't even get a lock on him (something about a tiny warp- what is that?) but he warped away after about 15-20 secs. Guessing he was trying to make his way to another gate to leave the system we tried to tail him.
We checked two other gates and noticed he was still in local- came to the conclusion that he had just docked at a station. We BS'd for a bit and decided to call it a night and head back.
As two of the four of us went on our way they ran into Tank and Hanns at the Sivala gate again, and we tried to regroup there.
We were two Moa's, a Thorax, and a Blackbird, up against Tank in his Moa and Hanns in his (you know I never had time to see what he was piloting). In the end we lost two Moa's, and bruised up the other two ships wickedly. Tank and Hanns were still there when we retreated.
At first I felt just plain silly for thinking we would have had the upper hand. Then the adrenaline slowed and I realized that was the single best time I have had since day one, nevermind the fact we got our asses hand to us.
Well, we learned quite a bit from that encounter and we plan on making for a better foe next time around. If anyone else has ships to spare and feel like having a kick ass time I suggest you go tangle with these guys sometime.:)
Edit: Corrected Hunn to Hanns:)

Been there, done that, read the book, lost the stabber...
I need to try some warping / locking experiments to be sure, but if Tank hasn't found some uber "ha ha you can't lock me no matter what" module, then the carebears with their "waaah i have to be invulnerable when i warp in because i might get hurt" whiners have successfully handed the pirates their greatest asset ever. WTG carebear whiners!

Tank isn't too bad if you know his loadout (of course he's going to have to change now that his d425's are crappola).
Invest in some shield hardeners if you are ever planning on being on the offensive. Turn them and your sheild booster on right before you get to the gate.
Remember to bring a smartbomb . . . you can cut the missile damage you take considerably by getting the timing down.
If you are in a Thorax and aren't running 8 Heavy Drones, you are cheating yourself out of substantial damage. A Praetor does 10 EM damage every 2 seconds, 8 Praetors do 80 EM damage every 2 seconds. I also suggest mixing and matching drone types just incase the other person is using hardeners.
Don't waste your energy trying to web stasis or warp scrable Tank . . . he bookmarks all his happy camping grounds so he can jump as soon as he warps in. The only way to actually kill his ship (some members of TFA and Vector Heavy Industries did it last night) is to have enough ships to block his escape route and give chase.
Better luck next time.

Man Hunn now is it, get it right chaps its hanns :P

it was fun, but the new patc his nerfed.. and PVP is painfully boring, and NPC hunting alone is down the toilet!

Sorry Hanns, didn't mean to hack your handle.:)
Thanks for the tips Lhyda. I'll put 'em to use.
Help yourself to a beer Bad Harlequin, I don't think the "carebears" have anything to whine about here.:D

Nah, it's useless hunting them. When you enter they just warp to some planet/moon and log. And there are so many places you won't find them until they have disappeared. So, you just brake the blockade for some hours, then they'll be back.

We had Tank CEO and Vito in Heimatar in Eifer where we lost a hoarder. We jumped in with 6 ruptures and retook the system.
The difficulty is warp disruption does not work in this instance. When a pirate is in trouble he will use the jumpgate he is sitting next to and there is nothing one can do to stop him. If you have the manpower, you can try to get him on the other side but you can't stop him jumping.
Thus both of them ended up escaping.

What if you sent in a single cruiser with MWD and ran his blockade of the gate. Then on the other side sat and waited for him to try his escape and then grab him long enough for the others to catch up.

Well,
I am no fan of Tank or of any other pirate, but I will say one good thing about him:
My corp had lost a few cruisers and indys to old Tank one week, so my self and about 25 other people decided to go and get rid of Tank. He and 4 of his cohorts were doing what they usually do . . . . camping a jump gate. We had a battleship and 25 cruisers and he and his buddies didn't run immediately. They stood their ground and fought until two cruisers were down . . . . then they ran. However, I guarantee if the shoe was on the other foot and I saw 30 M3g4 ships closing on me I would have jumed out long before they got to firing range.
Also, after we had destroyed his ship Tank couldn't leave well enough alone. He decided to keep cruising around taunting us with his ability to jam us so we couldnt target lock him. This last mistake is what led to him losing another cruiser when he ran into our battleship.
I will say that I do not like how he kills ships and pods for no reason, but I will also say that he's a balsy SOB and not a coward.

I myself feel player pirates are a necessary evil. Having said that, what Tank does isn't piracy. True pirates would be forcing people to give up their vessels...or at least pay ridiculously huge sums to survive. Tank is an assassin...not a pirate.

Tank isnt an assasin, its just everybody thinks they can run our blocade and live, granted a few lucky MWD ships do get past, but everyone thinks they can do it, so rather than pay a small sum of money theyd rather loose there ship, thats fine with me, maby they will learn there lesson and pay up next time!

tank and his cohorts
not a pirate fan myself but treu tank is not a coword. he doesnt run for a few cruisers and a bship. i can only say one thing bounty hunters unite and go for it. dont **** about getting killed go for it players. you have a corp for something. there is also something like a defence pact. troubles with pirate go hunt them dont cry. pirates are here and will always be. and expeccialy go for those pirates with a high positive sec stat thats the ****ers and giving real pirates like tank and moo corp a bad name.

There is a difference between Having lots of money, being a dumbass, and being brave, I sure as hell know tank doesn't fall into the last category.

I don't know about Tank, but I met one of his 'cohorts' the other day. And he did not tell me to "pay a small sum of money". In fact he made no demands at all, but immidiately opened fire (his maller vs my merlin). That's not a pirate, nor an assassin, that's a coward. ---
