I have been playing the game for over a year, however, since last week I have been having problems with certain textures flickering intensely on my screen.
Most notably the inside of stations and the surfaces of planets and moons. Other textures such the warp corridors, afterburner trails and ships will occasionally have strange colour shifts or even be missing certain textures. The colour of my Thorax, for example, has on several occasions, changed to pink and then back again soon after.
These problems only seem to occur after I undock.
As I said before, I have been playing this game for over a year and neither my hardware or software on this computer has been modified recently. All other software/3D games work fine.
My graphics card is a G-Force 4 and I am running Direct X 9.0c and the version of graphics drivers recommended by this site (53.03). The very same graphics card drivers I have been using since installation).
I have also tried adjusting the Z-Buffer depth but this also has had no effect. I would appreciate any assistance that anyone could offer me as this is really detracting from my enjoyment of the game.
Kind Regards,
The Sloth.

As much as I would love to, unfortunatley it is impossible. The pink hue seems to have been created by the quick alternation between colours.

I didn't think she had the skill to use one...
Anyway, the problem is still occuring, sometimes I log in and it is fine for an hour or so then it starts. Other times it happens right after I select my character.

Are you overclocking your video card? Is it just on the Thorax you see this corruption?

I am not overclocking my video card. I am using the same hardware & settings that I have used since I started playing this game and the software/software settings on this computer have not changed in at least the past two months. This problem has only been occuring for about 2 weeks now.
The Thorax was just an example of the extent to which this is occuring. Sometimes I log on and the textures are fine...for a while, yet at other times the flickering begins from the character selection screen.
The most notable effects (whilst it is occuring) is the constant flickering inside stations and also the constant flickering of colours and lighting from all models in space. This is most notable with larger models such as planets and moons as they appear as chess boards with the squares on them alternating between different shades of grey, for example.

Does a pink Thorax come with extra damage when attacking from behind?
Better to try and fail, then to fail due to not trying |

i really don't know but allthough you didn't change your setup this still might be a hardware issue, even some faulty video memory.
do you have problems with other games too?
also could be a too hot gpu, especially as you say the problem only occours after an hour or so, maybe there's dust around the coolant that reduces air flow or something.

Thanks for your reply.
I did at first think it may be a hardware issue but as all other games work fine so I discounted this idea.
Also, there is plenty of cooling in my unit. Not only that, Summer has just finished here and if heat issues were a problem they would have occured then.
Sometimes it happens straight away, sometimes it happens out of the blue and other times it happens after I launch into space and then dock. Needless to say that it does happen everytime I play this game (for the past couple of weeks). Apart from that last point, there is no clear pattern as to when it starts to occur.
If only I could find out what is causing the problem.

hmmmm...interesting.
You seem to be very PC lit, so I will save the chatter. Log into game, hit ESC, go to section about Colors/Monitor, etc. Make sure everything is where it should be according to your PC. Bring everything to uber high, regardless of people saying this and that.
My recommendations. You have everything else you need. I experience (very rarely) the same issue, but it resolves after some movement. It is just a "software" issue.

Thank You!
You encouraged me to play around with my Eve settings some more and I have discovered a Workaround. Although it does not stop the problem from occuring, it does, however, get rid of it for some time.
Workaround: Press ESC and switch to the 'Graphics' tab. Then change the 'Depth Buffer Type' from 'Z Buffer' to 'W Buffer'. Press ESC to return to the game (screen is almost completely black for me) and then press ESC again to open the options again (which open after some delay). Then change the 'Depth Buffer Type' back to 'Z buffer' and return to game and it should be back to normal.
I shall now send off a Bug Report along with the workaround. Many thanks to all of those who replied.
