Good thing about a typical Raven NPC setup is it's a perfectly viable (although very ordinary) PVP setup.

Edited by: marioman on 05/03/2005 19:50:53 NPC setup for lvl 4 missions:
Non-deadspace:
6 siege (named perferable) 1 quad lif mwd, 1 large shield booster II, f90 sensor booster, 3 cap recharger IIs 2 named BCS, 3 PDS IIs
Deadspace:
6 siege same as above 1 100mn AB II, 1 large shield booster II, f90 sensor booster, 1 shield booster amp (i use a dread for the extra boostage in tight spots ;) 2 cap recharger IIs 1 named bcs, 3 local hull nanos, 1 PDS IIs
I've only had to warp out 3-4 times since ive started running lvl 4s, and in deadspace those nanos get u up to warp in 5 seconds or less I will say this i have honed my skills to fly this setup, trained up nav and cap skills, shield skills (which most tankers do too) but the nav skills seem to be the real help. These setups mostly require very good managing of the cap, instead of "sit there and tank" With that said the non deadspace setup tops out at 1048m/s and the Deadspace setup tops out at 617m/s, now i just need an uber faction MWD and AB like the gistii 1mn i have on my vigil lol
EDIT: and yes im crazy and like weird setups :D

Mutlu
NPC is easy. high: 6x siege, med: xl shield booster, shield boost amp, 4 hardeners (depends on what rats u're fighting) or 3 hardeners and cap recharger II. low: pack with BCs PDU's II or whatever u need.
fire torps and be happy:) maybe u can get a 250mm rail or two on those empty high slots.
PvP... well depends on play style :D usualy people go with shield tank and nosferatus. :)

Ironically enough, it's also the single Battleship with the least possible setups.

Trained it after I seen the pulse laser changes, prolly only lasers my Apoc will see soon will be miner 2's
... you will see more and more marketing which in turn will bring you more players to torture. |

I don't find that to be true at all.
Raven can tank, it can gank, it can ECM, and it can tackle. It can even capdrain if you want it to. That's at least 5 viable setups.

Edited by: Mallik Hendrake on 07/03/2005 05:09:20 The best mission setup I've come upon is:
6 siege launchers, 2 large smartbombs 1 large tech II booster, shield amp, 4 hardeners 4 pdu IIs, 1 ballistic
The reason I like this is that you can run the booster indefinitely with good skills, and the large smartbombs are close orbiting drone insurance (and if you get in a tight spot, popping your smartbomb once can take out a lot of torps/heavy missiles). If you're going to use them for concentrated missile defense, you need mediums as they don't eat as much cap and still waste heavy missiles (The most common type spammed at you in missions).
Some caveats: this setup requires weapon upgrades 5 to be realistic also requires top notch energy skills & good shield skills also requires good solid raven/torp skills.
Really a large booster II has never failed me on missions yet. The 4 hardeners is the key. Heck half the time I don't even need to boost due to pds's :)
--- Pvp wise ---
I'd do somethin like-- 6 sieges, 2 heavy nos large tech II booster, amp, 2 hardeners, 2 sensor dampeners 5 pdu IIs
Dunno though, the scorp is just so much cooler for pvping :) (despite the big red X painted on it, where all the lasers go)
