Why isnt there an option to search the forums. I cant see any search buttons.

Never has been, probably never will be. Why? More than likely due to the fact that bug squashing and content patches are VASTLY more important.
Just a guess tho

gods sake how hard is it to install phpbb or vbulletin or any other fourm software that has these functions. How many threads are now potentially lost in this forum because there isnt a search option?
Like tips, workarounds, game help, hardware help etc..
Its very obvious that a lot of effort has went into the site as a whole so it dosnt wear when you say they have more important things to do.

Does it always work though. Sometimes I get results that don't match and even when I know exactly the topic of the thread it gives me the wrong page. I'm not exactly a google expert or general search engine theory for that matter but I think there is kind of an agent that crawls through the net and stores information. Only problem is that it's not like it can do it every few seconds so the results might be days old and moved from the page that google thinks they are at. Then again it could be that I even know less about this than I think i do 
I've kind of gotten used to the no search feature, worst case scenario you ask the question again and someone will answer or post a link to the original thread. Of course some threads can't be reproduced, anyone remember the chatlogs thread from the agents, guristas pirates and CONCORD? Also would love to see the thread with some Space Invaders chatlog where Viceroy stepped in as a lawyer
