I originally posted this in General Discussion on 2/26/05 but received no response there. I'm reposting here in slim hopes of some light being shed on the subject. Preferably by CCP. I'm adding a 4th screenshot that I just took on a mission yesterday:

Since the implement of this patch I have been plagued by a constant severe cap display bug (shades of castor bug). This renders being able to depend on my cap display for feedback next to impossible. It comes and it goes. Sometimes it seems to read ok. Other occasions are from slightly to totally off base. I have both bug reported it and even went to the extent of petitioning it under the 'other' catagory. All I ever received from CCP regarding this was their standard auto-email reply.
I'd like to ask whoever should read this for feedback. Because afaik I'm the only one having this problem to this extent as I have asked around. Although only a small number of people. Thats why I'm here. To make this more public and hope for some responses. Also if anyone from CCP should happen upon this post, comments would be extremely appreciated.
Listed below are some sceenshots of recent activity showing this problem. The 1st one listed is the one I attached to my original bug report. It shows me only running a 100ab and display indicates I'm capping out? The next 2 show me engaged in a lvl4 mission I just did today. My Apoc was only running 1 large, 1 med rep and 4 hardeners. I have energy sys op and energy mgt lvl5 and bs lvl4 and am quite aware of what I can run w/o capping out. As you can see in these screenshots all my modules are functioning perfectly even though cap display indicates '0%' cap.
Sorry for the need to copy/paste but my website doesn't have a properly set up index and doesn't allow direct linking for some reason.

You're not alone. My cap display sometimes runs amok. Like, as you mention, small modules seemingly draining your entire cap.
I've also noticed that sometimes when I warp it seems to reset the cap display, but when I exit warp again the cap slowly drains away (slowly = 200+ /s) without running ANY modules at all - annoying as *****

Getting that every few hours myself. Damn glad I'm running a cap stable config , doesn't matter what the display shows. Mildly unnerving to watch the cap display spin like a roulette wheel.

Hmm, ok... Amarrians reply, screens show Apoc...
Pattern? Something to do with the Apocs cap bonus?
Anyone had this without an Apoc? --

yep, i get it all the time aswell, regardless of what ship im flying. Its not so bad when flying a cap stable BS or even a cruiser that u know can run everything for long enuf to either kill ur target or be killed by it.
But when it comes to flying a ceptor this can mean insta death. it needs to be fixed. I know all the values are held server side and its just a display bug but please, its probably the most vital part of combat (cap=life is a common used term and is very true)

I've had a similar problem, although kinda in reverse ... the cap rose shows plenty of cap, but the modules (generally an armour rep and/or mwd, on my wolf/claw) don't reactivate...
