Has anyone managed to tank lvl4 agent missions in a blasterthron? I'm just about to get into my first mega and have a real taste for blasters. I intend to use it as an easy earner in lvl3 missions but would also like a rig capable of tanking lvl4 missions while my corp mates get their teeth stuck in. I have seen a few rail setups for lvl4 missions but no-one seems to be dumb enough to try it with blasters 
Can it be done? Or should I play it smart and try maintaining range with a decent tank and rails?
I'd love to see some blaster rigs for lvl4 missions  Or any suggestions for a sustainable fight (ie multiple waves or complexes, not to keen on booster charges as it will limit my stamina due to lack of cargo space).
I have good cap skills (lvl4 and lvl5), max fitting skills, lvl4 in 3 mechanic skills and a good set of everything else to do with flying a ship. (9.6mill skill points, not perfect but it's about time I got a BS )

Mmm for the most part id strongly reccomend against blasterthron on lvl 4's. NPC's really have an insane damage output in the numbers they come in therefore range is prefered. Its also difficult(more like downright impossible...) for a blasterthron to fit its guns and a tank that can hold up to the DPS youll take doing lvl 4's. So you can try, but get insurance.

Blasterthrons were not meant to do missions. They need a cap injector to be effective, and with 7 800 charges that's about 2 minutes to kill a spawn, then you need to go back and get more charges. Not to mention you will run out of ammo too, because the charges are so fecking huge. I've done them solo in a long range setup, but I generally use a domi instead of my mega now anyways.

Give it up and save yourself a 100% chance of a mega loss.
Too many npcs and not enough shield, armor, and structure hps for you to have a prayer :)

Using blasters on lvl 4 missions isn't advised.
However, if you're intent on it I suggest you switch roles with your gang mates and let them do the tanking (yes, I know, this means doing their missions, but the way you propose will result in one dead thron, very quickly).

Blasters suck at lv 4 missions.
Rails are ok, though your still better off with pulse fitted on an apoc. However, its still very easy to do missions with a mega, or a domi for that matter, just not with blasters.
The main reason has to do with the range most NPC's like sit at. It is to far for blasters, thus meaning you need a MWD or an AB, both of which will kill your cap and your tank.
Rails are a much better choice simply because you can sit at range and do damage. Use your drones to kill the frigs, and with some experiance you'll be fine.

You can do your own deadspace missions with a friend who takes the heat, just let him warp in first/aggro the groups.
What it comes to soloing a mission in a blasterboat, I guess some missions are doable but its gonna take 10 times the effort (well, a mega takes 10 times the effort of a raven anyway). And there are some occasions where you will be webbed (frigs/spider drones/zor etc) and cant even get into blaster range from the NPCs.

lol, ok, I get the hint  thanks for all the constructive feedback, i was kinda expecting to get flamed over this
right, so no blasterthron for tanking the mission. but its a good ship to bring to the party if you have another ship doing the tanking.
so how do you rig a mega or domi for tanking lvl4 missions?

not a chance:
MT does not have cap to run 1x large, 1x med aru & ab with 2x t2 cap rechargers & 2x cap relays. This without firing guns...
My opinion: you have exactly 0.0% of success

Dunno, but i know ppl can do lvl4 missions in snipertrons. Problem with lvl4 missions is not in tanking but in killing smaller ships, like cruisers. Raven can kill ~5-6 cruiser/minute, and no other ship can match that.

In most of the cases it is a bad idea to use close range BS-es on lvl 4 missions anyway, no matter what kind of ship you use.
For the lvl 4 deadspace missions you need to take out group by group, and that is a very time consuming task with short range setups (you have to wait before the group is in your optimal range, since going to them you will be risking agro-ing the other groups).
This also means that collecting the loot will be even more time consuming then it already was, not to mention you have a fair chance you have to fly longer to any next-stage acceleration gate.

It has a combined 12 low and med slots compared to apoc, mega, tempest, raven which all have 11 low and medium slots. That's how
