when you login, look at your dual 425s. Yep, thats right! You just paid 2 mil per gun for a spanking new worthless 650 scout! Dual 425 artillery scouts arent there any more! Isn't this great news?!?!

Yes it is.
It means the world and their dog wont all now be using d425s... only those who get the most out of them properly. The 425 still beats even railguns at range in the right circs~.

ok, new patch "exploits"
The new name of the server is going to be called "carebear land". I hear hybrids own, but at a distance of 2000 meters! If ya like to mine, I would mine until next emergency patch, or do trade runs.

I'll have to wait till after the patch before BBQ a dev so that I'm positive that it actually happened.
1st let me say that I don't own any d425s for my cruisers. So I'm hardly affected in any way. But if Ywev is saying the guns were removed from game and changed into 650mm artillery via a patch, I'll be highly upset. You don't just lowjack equipment out of people's account while they're offline.
If equipment is overpowered, you stop them from dropping. Attrition will take care of them over time (destruction in combat, bugs, account terminations). And doing so doesn't remove the investment people put into getting the equipment.

Let me draw a parallel so that you may comprehend the difference.
You log on and find that your rare mining laser is gone, in it's place is a basic mining laser.
And you are only getting 4 veld per minute from them.
This is what they have done to the combat players, so, yes. We are upset.

hmmm, stuck in work so wont get to see the new changes for myself, i read the patch notes(not the most informative) and hybrids did seem to be made more powerful. I didn't read anything about 425mm magically disappearing though.
lads, is there any other little supprises you's know that you could tell u's. tnx
Also the new factory/skills rule. does this mean ppl's factories will be taken straight of them or after there rental period they just cant re-rent them.

When did you guys stop playing the game in order to take up your present occupation as professional whingers?
You spent the first 6 weeks of this game calling anyone who did not like things as they were whiners and carebears, and telling them in a generally perfunctory manner that they should leave if they did not like it.
Now things have changed in a way you do not wholly agree with, you are becoming the very thing you so clearly despise.

This isn't a whining post, I don't use dual 425's anymore, I did, yes. Now, I use my secret grandmothers recipe. You will have to spend hours trying to figure out how to obtain above 50 damage per shot.

that is what i think of the moron "you dont like it then leave" posts.. do you get a check from CCP? this game thrives on its customers, and without them you are playing internet checkers :) because this game is dead.
I will wait to post my disgust until i see it for myself, but if CCP jacked my 2 million isk gun i will petition..

In the patch notes it says they just renamed some of the guns.
The better version of the 650mm Artillery was the Dual 425mm Scout Artillery, the loot version of the 720mm Howitzer was named 650mm Medium Scout Artillery.
That confused a few player i guess 'cos an improved 650mm gun should still be called 650mm and not become a Dual 425 ...
So, did they just change the name of the Dual 425mm Scout Arti to 650mm-Something (as it should be) or did they also change the stats on that gun to what the old 650mm Scout was (a better but still slow as **** 720mm Howitzer)?

Combat character doesn't mean the same as exploiter. I mean, even though I had SS at level 3 AND a ton of rare weapon upgrades AND low slots to put them in, I didn't use it. My combat performance will be unchanged with this patch, or even changed to the better. And it was very good to begin with, although not in a exploitish way.
Your 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun perfectly strikes some nublar, wrecking for 1155.0 damage. |

what excatly is the diffrence in evrybody dealing 450dmg/2sec or 50dmg/2sec?
guess the shield is worth something now, guess it makes sense to launch my drones, guess i have more than 2sek to warp out, finally countermeasures will be worth initiating...
but dont worry you can still spend yout times at gates |

Ywev, next time spend more than 5 seconds reading the patch notes:
"Named projectile weapons that are dropped off pirates have had alot of name changing. Some of them had names that confused players, players will now know right away which weapon they have found - projectiles that players have already have also changed. "

I doubt they changed the 425 scouts into what were previously 650 scouts.
The previous 650 scouts were rare upgrades of the 720 howitzers, and the dual 425 scouts were rare upgrades of the 650 artillery. My understanding was that they simply changed the names, so that the dual 425 scouts are now called 650 scouts and the previous 650 scouts would now be called, I guess, 720 scouts.
That said, ALL projectiles (and most other things) were nerfed somewhat. Check the ROF on the new "650 scouts." I suspect it's something like 9 seconds, instead of 6 for the old dual 425s? And I think the regular 650 artilleries were changed to 12 seconds. Previously, the 720 howitzers were 30 seconds and their formerly-called-650-scout cousins were 24 seconds.
I think they changed the name and nerfed the gun a bit. I don't think they made it into the other gun.

Geez people. Get over your hatred of livestock for a half a second.
It's not about levelling the playing field, if this is true. It is about removing items of value from a player's account. You just don't do that. m0o aren't the only people that have or use d425s. I hear people in the newbie guild cheering everytime they find one. If the guns were changed into regular 650s, a lot of people will find their efforts removed arbitrarily. You just don't screw your customers like that.

it was an exploit and unbalanced
PK only had this power, because they are looking for cheating and exploits ... so now one is gone. So find the next one, because honesty and to play a game for fun isn't in your mind. Only to rule, maybe because in the real world you PK are the opposite and when CCP have cleaned all bugs and exploits, you once again will be meaningless children without toy.
Hope CCP will get you all ...

but it is sad that there are so many evil humans around in this real and virtual world.
I think all PK's would be also evil in the real world, if they wouldn't fear punishment.
PK's Sick evil human minds ... that's it nothing more.

It's wrong to stereotype...
I think most PK are people who see the difference between a game and real life, the image of a 10 year old PK is wrong, often the pks are mature people who just try to distract themselves from real life.
On the opposite of your statement, I could say that lot of people would PK a lot more if they were not too emotionaly involved in the game, and where not fearing so much to lose "virtual equipment".
I know some people who are complete asses in computer games (exploiters and such), but true nice people in real life, I could not let them be classified the way you do.

I had collected all but 3 sets and all but 10 gold items in my early days of D2. I had spent lots of time searching and trading to get these items. When D2 had the major play balancing patch I found that my mules could no longer wear most of the items. All the items now had high lvl/weight/class restrictions thus my mules would have to be trained before I could use them.
So you know what I did, accepted it and bought the expansion. Heck I knew that the things were unbalanced. I could put Videlia's Rig on any lvl12 amazon and kill diablo, it needed to be fixed.
My god ppl, I have not heard this much whining since most CS servers started to use anti-cheat programs.
So what if you paid 1 mil for a bugged wep that now is fixed. What does what you paid have to do with anything especally if you used the bugged wep on someone that paid 4 mil for their ship.
Balancing games often means that items are removed or replaced.
Suck it up ppl or go find a game that will give you a BFG (doom) so you can kill every thing in 1 sec with 1 shot.
Or you can try using actual strategy to fight beyond "Ok, as soon as they warp and are lagged to death we use my BFG to kill them before they know what hit them, then we giggle at them"

The only thing they did was changing the name of the 425mm dual scouts and abit of balancing nothing more nothing less the names where just totaly wrong of that gun.
