First you cry about instas cause you cant ghank the cargo haulers, then you cry about log off cause the Non-pvp players dont want to play your game. Now you want to move level four missions to areas where you can go. Why? Your standings are not high enough to use them, if they were then you would'nt be in 0.0 waiting for some poor miner to ghank. Mission runners for the most part are not PvP players, they perfer PVE. They do not wish to engage in any sort of PvP. There are thousands in the newbie corps just for that reason, no wars, no "forced mining ops" etc etc. I for one will not use a level four agent if they get moved to 0.4 or lower. I have already been ghanked like that, going on a mission to find not only my targets 60km from where they are suppose to be but massive amounts of lag caused by unlooted cargo cans. Oh did I forget to mention the ghankers sitting there waiting for the next poor slob to blunder into them? Agent missions are for those that do not wish to go around shooting at other players.
Stop trying to force all of Eve to play your style of game.

So is doing those missions, and mining, and all the other stuff players do. He has a point a real good point, someplayers dont want to see the likes of you on their computer screens.

No, the point is that it is far too easy to make huge piles of isk without any real risk in highsec empire systems. In addition it hurts the immersion of the game when you see npc bs flying around next to stargates that are full of concord. _____

lvl4 missions are really imbalanced in my opinion (dont start whining about crap loot).
The problem is that the risk VS reward scenario is borked atm. There is no incentive for people to go to either 0.0 or 0.1-0.4... I dont feel boosting those two areas are the right solution since there is allready to much ISK in the eve world as is. I know I'm dreaming now but here is my opinion...
1. 1.0-0.8: here is the realm of the lvl1 agents 2. 0.7-0.6: here you can find lvl2 agents 3. 0.5: here you can find low quality lvl3's 4. 0.4-0.1: here you can find high quality lvl3's and lvl4 agents 5. 0.0: same as before, the pirate faction agents, altho they should be boosted in rewards and loot. 6. Insurance should be either cut down on, increased in price or decreased in duration
The carebears will prolly flame me to hell and back now but

This guy do have a point tho. Alot of ppl (including me) play this game just for the sheer amount of PvP, but there are _alot_ of ppl playing this game too that isn't interessted in PvP at all.
Let them do their thing while we do ours and don't give them a hard time about it just cus they dont share our point of view.

If I were a moderator I would have locked it at that post. Thats the only reply in this entire thread thats worth reading. Most simple explanation of what's going on here. Some troll is being a hypocrite. How do you whine about people whining?

Best. Post. Ever.
It is this point that a lot of people are unable to grasp, such as whats his face 1 post above me. Dont force every1 to PVP. u dont get miners + mission runners trying to get all the pvpers to play the way they do do ya?
Having been a mission runner for the last 10 or so months and now moving into PVP i think there is room for both. LVL4 missions do need a tweak thou. It is extremely easy to make isk doing them, especially if u know what ur doing

Mining, Research, Manufacture, and even NPC Rat hunting is still PVP. It's just not the violent variety, save the last category.
The fact of the matter is that EVE is a PvP game. CCP will tell you this, and they were pained just to add sentry turrets to the gates. Don't expect much luvvin, carebears.
EVE is designed to have realistic social interaction in a fantastic universe. That means you're as liable to get mugged as you are laid or win a lotto. The human race is a bunch of asshats, which is the very nature of 0.4 :). So SHH. If you get ganked, gank back, don't be cunning linguists about it. "You Griefer!!!" = "You Doodyhead!!!" |

Edited by: Neon Genesis on 09/03/2005 16:47:48 How about this. 0.0 is an area of lawlessness, but with instas and wcs thers little or no chance of getting killed, hence the risk which makes eve better than WoW is gone.
Lvl 4 missions i feel were abysmally implemented, you no longer have to go anywhere risky to attain the big rewards, as u can jsut go to rens and kill npc bs without any fear of reprecussions from other players. This is not the spirit of eve, it has always been that the BIG rewards in eve are where it's dangerous, in 0.0.
With lvl 4's where they are ther is no risk and alot of reward, and no challenge of making it on ur own. And people mite say lvl 4's arnt just totally easy but they are certainly not hard enuff. If it was up 2 me there would only be lvl 4 in 0.0, then maybe isk might be worth sumthing again
Way to much money being injected into the game from lvl 4's and one of the reasons, apart from how easy they are, is that theres no real risk in doing them because they are secure space,,,,,

All levels of the agent mission have a certin amount of risk, some level four missions I have done solo, others it is better to have a couple of friends with you.
Imo the folks out in lower sec space have noticed a drop in targets, but an increase in player base. Agent missions pay out better now then they ever have. One level four mission paid out enough minerals and loot to make a couple of thorax with alot left over for me. So yes I rather do that agent mission where I can get my loot hauled in and recycled, then go several jumps to a station through choke points.
When I practice piracy I equip to fight, when I do agent mission I equip to take on NPC ships. Having to fit out my ships to do both really sucks.
So if you want some of this "easy" ISK well then do some of the missions, dont complain to CCP and demand that the missions move out to where you can get at a mission runner. They will come out there when "they" feel they are ready.

when talking about risk VS rewards we arent talking about risking loosing your insured Raven to a dumb npc that my mother could most likely solo. We are talking about risking interference from other players. EVE used to be "If you want the big riches, come and get it"...
now its "if you want the big riches, join a npc corp so noone can wardec you and run agent missions in Rens"

I agree that many don't want PvP, but EVE is set up as a PvP game outside of .5 space. Eve is designed so that non-pvp types can play their style of game within the confines of .5 and higher. Once they leave that safety net, they have to be more cautious. There are incentives (before lvl 4 missions anyway) to leave .5..better stuff.
Risk v Reward.
These non-PvPers just want all the reward with no risk (which they have atm with lvl 4s) but that isn't how the game was designed. The PvPers or 'Ghankers' as you called them, just don't want that.
