First of all, let's all keep it clean and smack free. I want to clarify 1-2 things. Logoff tactics are seen by most of the community as an exploit, but if the enemy does it,then i'll do it as well VS that ONE enemy in particular. I'm not so foolish as to concede an advantage to the enemy, and i think that saving a ship from certain death is good enough to be considered an advantage.
Now sas are surely a group who does their job well, but my experience was not very exciting. I don't mean to flame here,it's just that sitting on a snipe spot and hitting away with tech2 guns makes it non-fun for me to face you,as blobbing on our part is not fun for you. Maza has found a simple solution to all this,we don't go through the 2-3 systems that sas operate in unless we are needed in an XF fleet or have serious business there. After all sas don't really move about a lot.Let's face it,going it alone trough their camps will get you killed and losses hurt my corp and my alliance. After all,the first and foremost requirement for a good tactician is the ability to know how to pick his fights.
As to that engagement you guys mentioned it most probably was me or K Agg flying the rupture. I don't really remember, what i do remember though is an occasion where we saw a scrambled raven vanish when our gang warped on our "live bm" (aka cov ops). And when i say vanish i mean just that, not warping away (logoff anyone?). I'm not going to tell you how to play your game,it's just that your play style makes it too much of a fuss to engage you. Thus, the best alternative is to blob you and make it a fuss for you.
Contrary to many people,i don't think that any of the above done by us or sas is lame, exploit or anything. It's just a combination of what the game allows one to do and how some people choose to fight, and that brings about the appropriate counters to their moves.
Keep up the good fun and please move about a bit.I'm looking forward to some engagement that doesn't have a predetermined outcome like the ones so far.Atm it's either get ganked by sas, blob them,or use a cov ops and see them log as soon as they get cornered(again, this is not meant as an insult and can be dealt with with some extra firepower, the ship stays put for some time if it's scrambled). My point being that sas is way too predictable so far,and thus easy to evade(at least from my experience, others might present evidence to the contrary). With the recent retraction of wars against XF,empire is safe again, almost to the point of afk hauling and that gets boring after a while.

they took the job to kill you guys not to make it fun for you, if sniping is what is needed to keep themselves safe from the blobs then its a valid tactic. you do however have the right idea that the rest of xetic seem not to comprehend, if your unwilling/unable to fight these guys avoid the places they are, not take advantage of the alliance system while complaining that its bugged.

Was fun a long time ago with on of my other mains. He in a corp at war with S.A.S. Him undocking, waving at Brigitte, warping to rendevouz place, getting blown up, pod bad to base, new ship, undock, wave at Brigitte, etc etc.
Man that was fun and so much good laughs with Zincol, Budman, Ombre and the rest of the crew.
Sometimes the diplomatic skills left much room for tuning but i see it has improved quite a lot :)
nice to see them still in the game

Most time I have seen them in Yulai and up to two jumps away along the highways. As we both are smart enough to warp away when slightly outnumbered I mostly watched them cloaked or circled them with an alt and scanned them over and over again. That makes them run even faster than when outnumbered even without a fleet behind me.
On the other hand I find it pathetic that a trueblooded warrior with 30mio skillpoint in combat runs from an enemy with 2mio skillpoints in combat just because they get outnumbered 3:2. I guess most of their "enemy blobs" had in total less skillpoints in combat than one of them and they still run.

You talk trash once more. We fight outnumbered 3:2 or 2:1 when possible and come out on top. When we don't fight is when it gets worse, there is just no point in engaging when you know the enemy just has too many in their gang at that specific moment. I'm growing tired of all the flaming and constant lies from some of the Xetic in these threads.
All is fair in love and war my friends.

Its not about how much sp you have but how much firepower a gang can produce. Like ive said turn the tables, And i bet you would run even harder, And we have seen dozens of Xetic log to save there ships. I engaged a enemy kestral and he loged to save himself.
We cant play eve 23-7 you know, Some of us have r/l things to do aswell. You find it pathetic that we wont fight a enemy group 4 times our size? I find it quite pathetic that Xetic need a gang 4 times our size to deal with us. =============================================== "Thank you for using the -SAS- Clone jump service, Have a nice day" =============================================== |

remember the time Xetic leadership told xetic members not to fight CA unless outnumbering them at least 3:1?
face it man, S.A.S are good at what they do.
Look throughout history and you will see geurilla warfare is successful, it shows here too.
S.A.S are top class pvpers, i would bet on any of them 1v1 to beat any Xetic member. but we all know 1v1s never happen.
Your smack is pathetic and pointless. let it drop.

Edited by: Cinnander on 12/03/2005 00:20:19 I think a problem we have is that - for example - soppose CLS gets 6 or 8 guys in frigs/ceptors (only) to try and take down a geddon or something that's sniping a gate from 150km, and his 2 ceptor buddies sat right on the JIPs.
So if the many-many noob spies don't see us and we manage to get practically on top of them, a noob spy could then see 5 xetic in a seperate gang coming in a different gate and raise the alarm.. we then show up .. well 5+8 is 13 so SAS ups it and runs to a safespot...
In reality they were outnumbered in this case 8:3 (bearing in mind 8 frigs vs 2 frigs and 1 bs) OR/AND they were outnumbered 5:3 by the other gang (which could be 3 bs and 2 frigs or whatever)... they were not however 'directly' outnumbered 13:3 as it may have first appeared. (I wouldn't be at all suprised if both gangs were completely oblivious to one another, also)
Unfortunately, that's going to happen when you sit on a highway system that 4000 people want to use daily. Just must suck when a 5 man indy hauling fleet jumps in at the same time as a 10 person blob heading to FoE space, eh :)

i dont know why you complain about the use of alts, when we declared war upon Xetic i was coming to obe from empire, stumbled upon a xetic fleet (before war went thru to fight) and with it was just as many alts in indies, n00b ships etc etc.
Throughout the war there were always alts in the systems from boe to new caldari at least belonging to Xetic.

I did not complain about them, I merely suggested that that is the medium used to gather most of their intel from other gates. |

Edited by: Choo Choo on 12/03/2005 15:09:41 Let me start by saying I don't post very often, if at all.
I want to personally thank MegaJ for helping me realize that PvP is my true love. I'm not very good at it, because I haven't been involved in much since my days in Stain Alliance when I belonged to MTG, but after fighting and getting my arse handed to be my MegaJ a few weeks ago, I fell in love with it all over again.
So thanks S.A.S and MegaJ, for helping me find my true love that I thought I had lost long ago. If after the war you wanna meet and sit down down to nice cool drink of Quafe with me, just look me up.
note: I posted with an alt because of the flaming I would surely get for this post, but I am a proud XETIC Federation Member and will always be.
edit: though bette of myself, and removed the flame bait, eventhough I've already posted with the alt |

Edited by: Koth Krakenworth on 12/03/2005 17:33:10 I don't understand this kind of flaming at all. It's war, and both sides can fight the way they think would benefit them the most, be that through outblobbing to get rid of them (afterall, I guess most of Xetic would think of SAS as an annoyance and would therefor want to clear them out ;)) or through fighting in even numbers to get a fun battle (I would prefer the latter :P). However, both sides should be allowed to fight as they see fit, as they are all fighting for different purposes. I even think it's stupid to act a way because "for the sake of it" or "this way the enemies wont claim I'm a coward" instead of actually using the tactics you would think would gain the most from. A commander who cares about the smacktalking in local isn't a good commander I believe.
While you're on it, you could claim that "it's cheating to use T2 guns, because I can't use them", or maybe "don't use EW, you cowards, because then I can't warp away or make use of my mwd II!" as well. Fight the way you want, don't complain about the enemies tactics. It's probably just because your own sucks.

S.A.S.'s camp-blob-log routine is pretty damn lame but also the most effective tactic I've seen so far so it gets my respect. Personally I simply avoid Manarq/Kehour as those two systems are practically owned by S.A.S. This has worked so far because I haven't lost a single ship to them. I also try to spread the word to my alliance brethren but I guess out of 5000 members not everyone is always up to speed and as such we lose plenty of members to the camps on a daily basis. Some people also fail to realize that just because you have a hundred times more members doesn't mean you're god. For those who are familiar with Unreal Tournament.. It's the same principle that makes 1 good player win even versus a team of 10 lesser players.

Run a search in these forums and look for me saying "1 vs 1's are lame" - you'll find I've said that quite a lot and I'm not about to deliberately make a hypocrit* of myself by offering/accepting an offer of a 1 vs 1.
