we need these ingame
have a rare spawn drop single run BPC for these as well as certain complexes and Agents
what I got in mind is this several high end deferent type Modules that has to be constructed using a Construction ship when enough of these modules are deployed (by said construction ship) they create a NPC style station (like the conquerble ones in 0.0
cost to build need to be really high with 90% of the construction being NPC products (money sink)
deferent modules (costing maybe 10 Bill a piece) would be needed for each of the services (other than Fitting and Market) like cloning, R&D, Factory etc these new modules should also be useable on the conquerble stations already ingame they should use consumebles but not be insanely expensive to run they should be deployeble in any system exept maybe .9-1.0 (meaning that in time as ppl use their services they could be profitble for the owners)
all together a station should cost atleast 100 Bill to build (if not more)and take atleast 1 month to construct by atleast 50+ ppl
yeah this would mean that only Aliances can afford building their own station's thats kinda the idear
also these new construction ships could be used for things like building Sentry guns around gates etc etc
Thank You Paw Sandberg

It's called a POS. Wait for more modules for 'em to come out (like factories, etc) and you'll have what you describe. ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! Now I'VE got the Oscar! Enjoy your worthless gun! |

Only uglier, and funny looking...
personally I was hugely dissapointed to log in Sisi the first day and see the POS... they just look so... uncoordinated and messed up, I would love if all stations followed npc design (or simmilar) ---------------

I'd agree with the crap look of current pos's, but i like their functionality. I can get over the fact they are small towns rather than one uber construction.
What I'd prefer to see though is a NPC style station, costing perhaps $1billion, that acts as a trading station or trade hub for an alliance.
Members of other corps could dock (depending on standings), they should have similar shields and at least some deployable defences. They would have a market, perhaps also cloning and repairshops also, and the owner could set the price to allow them to cover the costs of station fuel.
This, in one single move, would do more to open up 0.0 and encourage the exodus. It would also give people another reason to setup in, and look after their corner of space.
Just my 2cents worth.

POS are not the same as stations. If I remember correctly player built and run stations should be out with next expansion.
Why dont you just DIE DIE DIE !!!!

I would prefer something that looks like a normal station to the lag inducing debris field that constitutes starbases.
However, I acknowledge that things that can be destroyed or moved probably cannot be things at which a player can dock. All I want player HQs to be are fancy secure cans. It seems so simple to me..
Actually, I wouldn't mind that normal npc stations acted more like fancy jetcans.. I hate docking. At least I would like to be able to access my agents and my junk hangars that way. The rest of the interfaces might as well demand docking.

no a POS is a moon miner station what I am talking about is "real" stations that other ppl can dock etc that has decent refining equipment and that you can dock and make clone's in

I want to see these things too. I mainly wish that CCP made the current POSs fit the bill, and you could dock with them and use the services.

1 Bill is way to little (I think we can all agree on that) these things should not be commen place they should be rare other than that yeah what you said :-)
also they need to have a production time IMO

As it currently stands, PoS are more like "encampents". Bunch of tents littered around the place, a diesel generator powering the lights, and a couple of sleep-deprived loonies with hunting rifles guarding the place. Kinda what you get when an enterprise is just being set up, like how the diamond mines used to be to begin with.
Later on we might get proper structures, maybe in Kali. There are many ways to possibly do this, one idea the devs mentioned was that you would have to buy "scaffolding" that would teleport in, and then you would have to literally build the modules into the station.
Personally, I don't like that idea. I'd rather see an item that acts as scaffolding, that you unfold in space and then install modules to. Said modules could maybe be mined for locally, then refined for and built in a "current" PoS. Cue attacks on incomplete stations. \o/

POS are PoS. We need real stations, with various station services...

The stuff required to build 'NPC-Style' stations is already coded and such, some construction platforms were given to some corps at the end of beta - they had to take minerals to it, and it would build into a station... Simple, effective.
I believe thats still the plan on how they will be incorporated, the code and such is there, so it remains to be seen...
I think that its supposed to be one of the main features of Kali.

Quite like some of the ideas of this but how about NPC stations like POS ones, that players can attack in groups to practice formations/tactics for PVP fighting? Would be nice to see larger scale battles that are not just PVP which would give alot of people a much better platform to practice on.

A POS is only a moon miner station because that's all it can do well at the minute. Docking is irrelevant. You can refine and refit with modules added to a POS, and you don't have to dock for them.
Basically, there will be medicals centers, etc, added to POS. When they are, NPC buildable stations that you describe will be useless, because who wants to spend billions of ISK and months building one when you can build a POS far easier? ---------------- Haha, stupid monkey! let me see
Because other PPL can NOT use my POS Because other ppl can not dock my POS (no market)
because even with all the modules thats suppose to come out a POS will never be a "real: Station there are so many thinbgas that cannot be done at a POS
IF they change the POS so that you can trade using them and IF they make decent refinery's for the POS (100%) that other ppl can use (and you therefore can profit from) that dont take 3 hours to refine then maybe a POS will be as good as a "real" station
the one point you do have is the price proberly more along the lines of between 1-10 Bill to build a station is better than 100 Bill :-)
as you said a well equiped POS cost between 500 mill and 1 bill so ...

also maybe the current NPC stations (the conquerble ones already ingame) could be fitted with these modules so they could have cloning, Refining etc as they need

the really big thing i mis about pos's may sound unusual but i think it would make a pos so much better if you was able to dock.. pos would have its own interior docking area also be able to enter management panel etc, also have the ability for other to be able to dock from alliance and what not.
instead of just having float in space while afk or while talking to people.
just my 2 isk worth :P

Stations in general should also have a limit on the number of people that can dock - including NPC stations.
Especially all those in Rens

I am getting sick and tired of this argument.
Windows XP box talks about stability and virus/trojan prevention and I have yet to see any of that...

That's no excuse... Microsoft is just as bad for making empty promises. Neither company should be doing it. ---------------

that alone making a POS dockable would be a great thing as it would eliminate things like theft and make it so we could use the market
I will ignore the off topic comments
