I could sympathize too except the very argument about lazy miners is ONLY true if the ganker is ALSO just as lazy.
He has (and still does) MANY other ways to make a profit ganking - he just repeatedly and foolishly preyed on the weakest to profit (a.k.a. easy mode) and blamed the lazy miner for playing on "easy mode" which actually made it possible.
Rather circular nonsense if you get my meaning. But let's not forget he can still gank. If he wants to make it profitable he just has to do it differently - I dunno, freighter ganking in a GROUP.
Heard Tippia does regular freighter hauls near Uedema... 
I lost countless ships and millions of isk on gank attempts.
I did not blame CCP, Concord or the miner.
I blamed me for bothering.
I made more money.......... mining.

I remember when someone suicide ganked me one and only time, I was in Badger MkII in Jita and in cargo hold was placed only one module worth 500M.
It was really funny because it didn't drop for ganker.  Ganker lost more than she earned, because she was in amarr battleship fitted with autocannons.

I still remember my first time...didn't know how to set autopilot settings and got ganked in Passari. That was a long time, and another life ago, but it is still a rite of passage that should be experienced by all who play this game..
