Are you a trader, a miner or perhaps a fighter pilot?
How do you plan to get the most out of this great game?
EvE rates as the BEST mmo game currently on the net (This is just my humble opinion), but game mechanics aside, what makes a mmo truly unforgettable are the people you play with.
We all start off in a newbie NPC corp. and this gives us a taste of what happens when you randomly throw a group of players together. Here we learn the basics, ask questions and hopefully we get some answers… You get the full spectrum of personalities in this mmo, ranging from people you’d like to be best friends with, to morons who don’t deserve to breathe your expelled oxygen..........
The Old Farts Corporation (OFC) represents a certain type of gamer and it might be the corporation you’ve been looking for. All OFC members are expected to be mature and reasonable. To this effect, we will only accept people that are over the age of 21, but the older the better, as we are all Old Farts in real life as well….
The OFC is neutral, based in Empire space and is a trade, mining and production focused corp. There is a place for fighters within OFC, but you must have a security rating .0 or higher and realize that OFC is not interested in starting fights or illegal activities.
The signing up bonus of 1.5M isk is neither here nor there, but it is offered and helps the new player get established. What is important are the members of the OFC. We’re older players, which means there is a distinct lack of smack talk and out of control testosterone. The emphasis in OFC is on cooperation but within these parameters there is plenty of scope for individual playing.
OFC has Wednesday and Sunday activities. It is not compulsory, but it adds to the enjoyment factor of playing EvE with like minded people.
So now you know what OFC wants from you, what does it offer in return?
Most items and skills in the game can be bought at a considerable discount through the OFC store. As well as discounts from the corp, members assist each other in many ways, with useful advice and at times with goods.
As a newbie, I was podded by a pirate in low security space. I lost my ship and a fellow member gave me a kitted Caracal to help me out. This unsolicited assistance should give you some idea of the quality of membership of OFC. This really is the best reason for belonging to this corp, that you get to play with a great group of men and women whose primary purpose is to have fun.
OFC has been around since beta, so it’s not a flash in the pan. Its officers are regularly around to assist members. So whether you’ve just started playing or are an old hand, if this blurb grabs your interest please contact any of the following Old Farts to arrange an interview:
Wayfinder (Officer) AzzKikr (Co-Director) Novac (Senior Officer) Glacier (Senior Officer) Vulcan Rome (Director) Digger Dave (Senior Officer) Kaliesin (Officer) Seborian (Co-Director)

There are way too many people who are only interested in what a corp can offer them, as though it is a one way process. OFC offers alot, but wants players who want to be a part of the corp, or help out when requested. OFC is not a sweat shop but neither is it a sugar daddy.
If you're looking for a great group of people and a corp that is extremely well organized then OFC might be for you.

We're currently involved in a war - don't ask me why, we haven't been given a reason. To this end players who have good PvP skills and like the sound of our corp would be useful. Of course you must have a positive or neutral sec rating and realize that we fight only to defend ourselves as OFC is neutral.

Greetings OFC. I have read your message and am quite interested in you organization. As of right now I have just returned from a hiatus. I look forward to getting back into the mix of things, tho I admit Im a bit rusty. I own 2 craft. I light attack frigate (tristan) and a hauler (bestower). I look forward to hearing from you and using these craft in service to the OFC. (I also have an alt I play that is a scientist/explorer, by the name of Dr. Romulis)

Great that you're interested in OFC, Raven. The best way to join is probably to contact one of our Officers ingame and take it from there. Skills whether rusty or not are always useful, but really it's the people that make OFC the corp it is, so I wouldn't worry about coming back after a break. See you soon.

These are very exciting times for OFC. Burn Eden a kick ass PvP corp declared war on us but have just retracted it. We're still fighting a small PvP corp called On ya 40 or something like that, who specialize in targeting afk miners, solitary Frigs and pods. Hopefully we have their measure.
Yes we are a mining and trading corp, neutral in Empire space, but there is definitely the opportunity for those who want it, to do some PvP. You must have a positive sec rating but don't be a stranger if OFC sounds like the sort of corp you'd like to play in.

Thanks Grizwold. Recruiting is going well but we can always find a place for someone with a good attitude. OFC is an excellent corp for the new player who wants a supportive corp to get them into the Eve experience or for the jaded player, with more experience but who has had previously unsatisfactory corp experiences.
OFC is very well organized, the Officers are regularly online, in fact I'm surprised that we have been able to get such dedicated people who often put the corp before their own game!
The war is going well and we are replacing members losses from the war fund. It's been an exciting experience for many members who previously had never had any PvP experience. It's almost as though we have paid top 40 (or a name like that) big isk to skill us up in PvP, it certainly helps OFC members learn what they have to do to operate in low sec space!
So if there's anyone reading this who is thinking about taking the plunge and joining us, contact one of our Officers ingame and get interviewed.

Edited by: BSF Aurora on 24/03/2005 10:21:26 The war is one of the many reasons as to why I love this game. Out of the blue, these low life standover merchants destroy and kill our members, only willing to desist if we pay them off. It really is a challenge. Do we buckle and pay the criminals, or do we fight back?
It's like real life when some punk walks into your business demanding protection money. Well OFC would rather choke on its own vomit than pay these pirates. If there is anyone who shares these sentiments and is looking to join a well organized corp, please look up our Officers in game and organize an interview.

The Old Farts Corp is for the mature player. We pride ourselves on that. Admitidly, this Corp is not for everybody, but it is for those players that want to play with like minded real life "Old Farts".
Yes we are a Mining, Production and Research Corp. In the last couple of weeks, we had to learn to addapt to the new changes in EvE. As a rule we are not a PvP Corp and we had to learn quickly to defend ourselves. Admittedly we have a lot to learn in this department.
So, If there are mature PvP'ers out there that want to be part of a GREAT Corp, Contact myself or Wayfinder. We will require some proof of your "exploits". We can provide you with ships and most of the tech1 and tech2 modules to assist you. Also, you will be required to assist some of the new people to up there skills in the PvP department and possibly tech an OLD Fart like me some new tricks
Well, that is all Regards,
AzzKikr Old Farts Recruitment Officer

The Pvpers better hurry, OFC is gearing up! Cybr led a patrol deep into enemy territory which got a bit of interest on the local channel. Apparently an Empire war with patrols in strength is not a common occurence.
The corp that declared war on OFC is good at PvP and at times recklessly brave, (not always though), however it will be hard for them to sustain this war for a long time.

Edited by: SeePlusPlus on 25/03/2005 05:55:31 Hi OFC,
I haven't been playing EVE for very long but I've decided the only way to really enjoy this great game is with a respectable Corp. So far I have about 120k skill points, not very much I know, but I'm a programmer working from home which means I have a lot of free time . EVE is pretty much always running !
Since I am so new I haven't had a chance to venture anywhere that is < 0.4 so I have yet to try out any PvP. I really enjoy Mining / Trading though. Also, if it makes any difference I'm 21, from Canada, and I'm Caldari.
Does the OFC have any room for a guy like me?
Take Care
EDIT: I noticed that applications are suspended when I looked up the OFC in game , so I posted here so you guys can get back to me whenever the current war is resolved .

You're exactly the sort of player we're looking for, it doesn't matter how much you know or don't know, we will skill you up! The main thing is attitude and I think you've got the right stuff. I'll be on in a couple of hrs and I'll send you an evemail.

HI There
I am an old fart myself at 52, I enjoy this game. I started the game about 12 months ago for 1 month then restarted up at Christmas, the main thing for me is mining I have over 2mil skill points and have a fair ammount of isk so I do not need help in that department my security rating is 0.2. I need to join a new corp but do not know if yours is the right one. I am from the UK.. Please note I do not want to join a corp that is at war so I am a non fighter but enjoy the odd mission every now and then. I am usually online from 6pm till 11pm most nights. well thats me...

Meogeo, OFC and you are a great fit. We are neutral and are definitately not looking for trouble. We do have a fighter wing to protect us when necessary but our main purpose is to mine and trade.
Personally I'm not really into 'needy' members, I much more interested in a group of people working together, rather than members always wondering what's in it for me. You sound like just the sort of person who will fit in to OFC.
We have lots of people from the UK so there'll always be someone to chat to, or to play with. If you're interested in joining, make your way over to Gelfiven, to the Republic Military School and apply. Of course if you have any questions please contact me or AzzKikr in game.
Looking forward to playing with you soon,
BSF

I am interested in talking to one of you guys.
I am sticking my toes back in the water after taking a 13+/- month leave from the game. I started back up tonight and so far have gotten a bit frustrated and overwhelmed.
I am 27, married, former Marine, self-employed, and love playing these type of games. I hate drama, and like playing with an active group of people. If I fit in with what you guys are looking for, let me know. I should be ingame, trying to remember all the aspects of this game.

OFC is a great corp if you want a mining and trading corp. Each week members give 10 CCs (Corp Credits) to OFC. This is about 1-2 hrs work and helps with the minerals that are needed for manufacture. Members who don't mine just hand in items they get from NPCs that they don't want, to be melted down for their mineral value.
In return members get cheap goods from the Corp Store as well as participating in a well run corp, something that is really important. If this sounds ok to you, please make your way to Gelfiven to the Republic Military School where you can apply to join at our office.
Any questions please contact me or AzzKikr in game, I'll send you an evemail next time I'm on.
See you ingame soon

Thanks for the plug Alphamarine. Jossh is now a happy member of OFC - happy or else! Recruiting is going well because OFC is an obvious choice for the older gamer who does not yet want to tackle 0.0 space, or for player who need a break from 0.0.
That's why there are so many ex OFC members out there. The vast majority left, not because they were unhappy but because they wanted to experience different facets of Eve.
