Anyone able to give me a run down or overview on whats needed for these types of missions, i've just tried doing a lv1 mission & even he says i ain't good enough for him etc etc.
So i looked up his info to try & gain some insight to them, & it says relevant skills high energy physics & rocket science .. so am i right in thinking that each R&D agent has a certain set of skills that i need to of trained before i can be excepted into one of their missions.
Also what does an R&D mission involve, what does it get you & where do they take you etc etc.
Many Thanks People |

This is correct. Each R&D agent has their own scientific specialties you have to train before they talk to you. As far as the actual missions, I don't know much about those. I only used 1 agent as a datacore farmer, so can't provide any useful info on that. In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has angered numerous people for many different reasons and is widely considered as a 'bad move'. |

There are two missions, one is move a small little item to another station. As in 0.1m3 if memory serves, the other is hand in a bunch of trit. So just stock up on trit in each R&D station you use and your golden. Then You can take ca shuttle or something and just zip through em. |

A very good link.
To use any agent you only need the field of study science skill to level 1 (IIRC), but higher levels give higher yields. The skills to get those science skills are ones you should have trained or should train soon. In other words, there is no need to wait.
Check your prices before you buy skill books (which are expensive).
Also, some datacores require different RPs to get them (50, 100, or 150). Ships datacores require 150 RP but are given at an accelerated rate.
Example: Nuclear Engineering, Plasma Physics, and Minmatar ship datacores are all fairly close in price atm. RPs are given and used differently. NuE need 100 RPs and is given at a standard rate. PlP need 50 RPs and is given at a standard rate. MiS need 150 RPs but the RPs are given faster. It is an odd system, but things to keep in mind.
I found an online tool to help with the datacore calculations (found as in just now).

One thing to keep in mind about those Research Missions - you don't have to do them.
If you do them - then they will generally about double your RP but if you don't do them - your Research Agent will keep cranking out RP's for you - despite the tone of that message you get.
Thus, if you get set up with an Agent in one area - and then for some reason have to move - you will continue to accumulate RP's with that agent - as you can see in your journal - without having to fly back over there every day.
You do pretty much have to fly over there to buy data cores from your agent in return for RP's. As far as I know though there is no limit on how long you can let them build up before going to fetch them.

Additionally, note - that those Research Missions you do - give you NO standings gain. So - in order to raise your standings you have to do missions with OTHER agents for the agents of that corporation in order to access it's research agents. The missions do however count as missions towards the 16 mission count required to get a mission from a Story Line Agent.
Yes they do, unless they changed that very recently

Actually that may well be the other way around.
They didn't - but that could have changed.
I've not checked in over a year.
