Is it worth it to raise all learning skills to lvl 5 or should i just do the basic ones up to lvl 4 and carry on with other skills, i'm also wondering how long does the SOCT skills take to get to lvl 5 roughly? That is if anyone has got them to it. Werent railgunz supposed to rip apart vessels powerfully , or is the artillery more effective. Yeh, pilot that raven drive it right up the wrong way of an apoc, pump torp after torp into it and watch |

If you're going to be playing for over 6 months (roughly), then it's worth training your adv. learning to lvl4. Someone may be able to tell you long it takes for each lvl to become worthwhile but in the meantime I hope that helps ..

Edit: each ;)

Not really true, Learning skills use the attributes memory and intelligence to determin the speed at which you can "train" them. As such learning the memory and intelligence skill is usually main focus of most people that focus on learning because it can speed up their training.
With my attributes (pretty bad for training learning skills really) it took me about 15 days to train level 5 memory (I am not sure what the exact name is), after that I spend another 3 days on training up to lvl 3 advanced memory (again not sure about the exact name). Now I can learn all the other basic learning skills in about 9 days (from 0 to 5), that is a speed increase of about 6 days!. Now I am training wisdom to lvl 3 advanced and I am expecting that it will save me yet another day in total.
But if you want my opinion, in the first two/three weeks of playing Eve, you should not focus on learning skills (though you probably should train them to lvl 3 basic, with exception of charisma). Training learning skills takes a lot of time so you will need some skills trained before you start or you will get bored while you train.

edit: I just saw that Cpt Crunch was reffering to advanced learning skills, So he is right about that.

The higher your attributes r, the less significant of the effect is. After all, SOCT adv skill is just best to stay at lvl 3. Unless u want to train all bs skill to lvl 5 for 4 races. Then lvl 4.
Keep study study study, n no work?!

The advanced skills normally take 40 minutes to 1, 2.5 hours to 2, 8.5 hours to 3, 2.5 days to 4, then 13-15 days to 5. The thing is with the advanced learning skills they dont rely on int and mem. The rely on what ever attribute it raises . So IMO it is 150% worth it to train to 4 but not really to 5. I have all of mine to level 4 and didnt take long at all. Now my skills train so much faster. But I think you shouldnt train them right off even tho it will only help you in the long run. I waited a little before i trained them (when they came out ) I didnt have them when I started. But when i made an alt i didnt train them until i was able to fly a cruiser very effectively. Then i trained to advanced then trained all that needed crap to 5 like engineering, drones, gunnery, cruiser 4, ect. It saved me at least 2 weeks. So, I highly advise training them, but wait like a month of training on basics @ 4.
