that there are no possible ways of playing earlier versions of EVE. If only just because I wanted to know what EVE was like in its earlier years. Of course it couldn't be connected to a server. But it's one thing to look at screenshots, videos, and patch notes, and it's another thing entirely to experience a much earlier version of a game that you enjoy before a majority of the features you take for granted were added.
Obviously this would never happen, but if CCP ever released earlier versions of EVE that wouldn't require a network connection, would you play them for nostalgia's sake?

Any version of eve that be corrupted would be awesome. The only reason I still play is because there isn't a safe from CCP offline version.

It would get boring fast if it was just offline and you couldn't interact with other players. Most of what's interesting about stories of early eve is not what it looked like, but how the economy developed and what people did to earn money and win fights. |

I just want to fly spaceships. the only reason there isn't an offline version is because a large portion of us would pay the $60 and leave without ever looking back. The way the game is setup now we are paying $15 a month to be trolled by the ISD and Devs.

CCP has an archive of old builds. for the 10th year anniversary they should do one of their typical flashy trailers showing the birth and accumulating years of EvE to its current point. |
