I was just interested to wonder what the justification was for the size of the Brutix's drone bay... at 1000 M^3 it seems strangely much lower than the thorax and vexor cruisers. Obviously, the Brutix can armour tank much better than either of those, but the jump with Gallente from Cruiser to Battle Cruiser to Battleship almost seems distorted compared to Caldari who have a very nice BC in the Ferox... Almost makes me just want to skip BC completely and just save my cash for a Dominix.
Not a complaint at all, I was just interested in hearing reasons. :)

because of the drones thorax can have more firepower, and with a 1600 plate it can tank just as well as a brutix without one. would be gret if the brutix got a drone bay incrase to 2000 or something.

I think they thought it would overpower it to have it spewing 8 heavy drones like a rax, as in theory it could be outputting much greater damage - 7x heavy ions over typically 5x light neutrons. This didnt pan out, as most people dont even fit ions, they have to go to Electrons, and of course, the thing doesnt have a MWD of the right size, so it crawls along and runs out of cap before it reaches a target. I love my brutix, but its not worth the ferox, or the thorax, which I'd fly over it.

Uuuh...double the base shields and armor of any gallente cruiser, 7 (!!!) turret slots, significantly bigger cap, awesome ship bonuses, hello? You can still get 4 heavys or a mix of 2 heavys and 5 mediums, which is enough for taking down frigs...
Quite possibly the strongest BC in the game, so what if it has a couple of minor setbacks.

I have to disagree with you on one major point, sadist. The brutix, in use as a blasterboat, does not have a significantly larger capacitor. its mass and speed are both worse than the rax, and it takes the full capacitor penalty for mwd. I would prefer to use the rax with 2000m/3, as it is arguably as powerful, certainly cheaper and i would say more fun to fly.

Who says the brutix is neccesarily a blaster ship? 250mm railguns work fine on it.
And try using nosferatu on a brutix... it is MEAN.

I spanked a Brutix with a Thorax, pretty damn easy actually, although I'm not actually sure of what the pilot was doing. The Brutix can do an evil tank, i'm using Crystalline Carbonide plates on it, and its got 5100 armour, Tungsten would go even higher. On to the point, Brutix is probably best equipped with hordes upon hordes of light drones (Prefer EM, most frigs tend to run when their shields are down) If you lose some, no matter, you'll still have plenty spare. The Thorax's main power is in it's drones, Brutix is better suited to having a couple of Medium and Light guns for both tankability and firepower, don't rely on 4 Heavy drones, they suck unless you have lots of them.

What game are you playing? Cyclone/ferox/prophecy > brutix in every way. brutix is pretty and has worthless bonuses since a) armor resistance will always win over reppy efficiency at same percentages and b) you can't make use of the damage bonus very well unsless you use rails and snipe.
Its basically a good deepspace miner.

1. The bonuses arent total crap, in fact they are rather nice, you can get more than 40 armor/sec with tanking on this ship and still have enough space to fit a RCU, couple of hardners and an armor plate.
2. brutix >>> ferox for npcing, no matter what some people say, it deals more damage and it deals instant damage, and doesnt have to run away like a p***y until missiles finally reach the target. And i've seen cyclone npc too, it didnt impress me at all.
3. Ok, i agree that cpu and pg suck on a brutix, but if you tinker with your setups you might get a thing that works wonders.
Oh, and also if you think that everything sux on a brutix except rails, then why dont you use the rails for ****s sake?

This is the problem of all gallente ships, they are all so "ooh so versatile and unique" but when you actually try to fit your "ooh so unique and intriguing" setup you find yourself short on every possible attribute...

the drone bay is apropriately sized really works great with medium drones, i use 9 and they are perfect for those interceptor npc's. i wouldn't mind a larger drone bay of course but the rax's was freakishly large and the vexor is a drone carier.
as for settup problems and complaints... i have none i've been flying one for quite a while now and it owns level 3 agent missions my fitting is quite loose and i can tank pretty much forever.
