As we have now entered the busy season of our term, with several intense months leading up to Retribution expansion before jumping into work on the Spring expansion, I've been compiling a list of our recent activities as a series of blog posts. I would like to cross-link them here for maximum accessibility.
CSM7 Autumn Progress Report - (Activities since the May Summit)
CSM7 Progress Report, October 7 2012 - (Activities since the previous Progress Report)
I will continue to update this thread as more progress reports are released. Vice Secretary of the 7th Council of Stellar Management.

All that clicking and reading is a lot more effort than not clicking and not reading and continuing to assert that you've done nothing to deserve your election.

As a bit of constructive criticism, putting "Ongoing pressure to..." tells me nothing. Try to be a bit more specific with it if you can even if its just "Several skype conversations about...".
After all I could legitimately write that we have "put pressure on CCP" because the day before this was published I sent an e-mail. I know I'd prefer to see how as well as the what as it were. |

What is the state of the CSM interaction with the Retribution revision of the Bounty System?
While being one of the people that thinks that it should be revised and that a good bounty system holds great promise for better gameplay, I also think that a bad/flawed bounty system could be a disaster. And as most people have noted, this is a hard type of thing to get right.
Is CCP keeping the details as close to the vest as it appears? I think this needs a lot eyes on it to spot any flaws early, not just a few weeks before the expansion as the code as already largely done.
Has the CSM been briefed about this system?
When are the players going to get to see a more detailed preview? EVE is a sandbox; The only "end-game" content in EVE is the crap that makes you rage-quit.

There should be a dev blog out this week, from what I hear.
Bounty Hunting is the main feature being worked on by the team we're involved with as part of our stakeholder pilot program, so we've definitely had a chance to see what they're working on. We'll talk more about this in detail once the dev blog is out and most of the feature set is on the table for public discussion. Vice Secretary of the 7th Council of Stellar Management.

Has CCP announced a massive easy tag initiative yet?
They have already given away easy isk and easy LP, I wanted to say the bounty system would give out plenty of ISK, but that has been done already. I don't think faction tags have been easily circulated yet in an expansion. Is CCP thinking about doing faction tags with bounty system or will we have to wait a few more expansions till easy tags get implemented? I will not be voting in the CSM election, so you need to go vote to make up for me. |

Uh,
Step one: Come up with idea for bounty system.
Step Two: Get CCP to design and implement it.
Step Three: Easy ISK, or hopefully easy faction tags. I will not be voting in the CSM election, so you need to go vote to make up for me. |

Alright initial idea for easy isk or perhaps more beloved inflation.
First we shall start with CCP's beloved idea of isk velocity. (Hopefully I said that correctly.)
Most of the players that will be hit by the pirates and will want to set up bounties will be the (forgot correct term) but players that mine and sell it and don't care at what low price, saying it is just free resources and they enjoyed the experience.
Most likely these retards are the candidates for ganks and can flipping, and getting scammed.
But the catch is bounties cost money, perhaps more then just mining and selling it for low prices can afford. So all these retards now will have to figure out what activities will generate the most ISK for their time. This will drive up prices for almost everything and cause massive inflation.
All those retards getting ganked, then having to be smart or work hard to set up bounties will just make pirates rich, as well as force most items to stay at high prices, so they can continue to afford bounties on players that are dicks.
So you can see that in a way no ISK is directly made from the bounty system. (but in a way more ISK from people not allowed to be retards) but the Isk velocity goes up towards a certain activity and makes all the other activities harder to do. AKA inflation.
Perhaps with more inspiration more ideas will come. I will not be voting in the CSM election, so you need to go vote to make up for me. |

As you can see how subtle ISK velocity is, I pretty much gave up hope on anything working well, but was sad at abuse becoming repetitive and boring. I understand CCP, that we will get abused no matter what, I just don't want it to be boring really.
That is why I said they should focus on faction tags, because they are hip hop, wow and happening now. By them focusing on faction tags, the abuse won't be boring, but a fun interesting proactive way to deliver abuse. I will not be voting in the CSM election, so you need to go vote to make up for me. |

Enjoyed the Jaegerblittzen on podside the other day, particularly the stick poking reference.
Soo... *poke*
What are the rest of the CSM up to? What initiatives need community support and what needs feedback for the winter expansion?
Personally my issues I'd love to see CSM and community help with:
HML nerf and missile rebalance still seems a bit harsh (although it's harder to tell how bad it is now without doing the math).
War Decs still seem a bloody mess. (New DecShield and forever wars among numerous other things)
Killrights as suspect flag, not able to restrict.
Bounties unable to restrict, get your bounties back if you successful destroy the corp or drive the player from the game. (I advocate a bounty expiration date. 30 days seems like a good duration.)
Anybody else want to chime in with things the CSM should be looking at or lobbying for changes?

This listing of the activity of the CSM is an awsume Job
I currently don't have much time to play, so I am just training some LONG skills and just checking the boards on lunch breaks, I have not had the time to keep my ear to the ground.
Thanks for doing the work and presenting me the actions on the CSM on a plate. Some day I will have the internet and be able to play again. |
