Under my characters standings tab, if I right click on a faction or corp I can 'Show Transactions'.
This appears to show how much my standing increased to that faction or corp for each mission I have done.
However it shows the increase as a percentage, which for most missions for me has been about 0.3%
What does this percentage apply to? Is it a percentage of your standing with that corp/faction prior to the mission? Does it ignore your connections level?
It seems very low to me. For example if I had a standing of 1.0 with a corp and I get 0.3% increase for doing a mission then does this mean my standing only increased by (1.0 / 100) * 0.3 = 0.003, so my new standing would be 1.003 ??
At that rate it'll take me an awful long time to get higher lvl agents.
I presume I have got this totally wrong, so I am looking for enlightenment

If I understand you correctly you wanna know how much your standing increases after a mission.
I have checked this multiple times with the raw numbers and what you say could be correct. I have done alot of lvl 1 missions and the standing did not increase alot, the higher the standing though the more it increased.
and .003 increase could be pretty on target.

I believe the percentage is taken from ten minus your current standing. So, if you currently have a 1.0 standing, and get a 5% increase....
10 - 1 = 9
9 * .05 = .45
But if you have a standing of 9.0 already
10 - 9 = 1
1 * .05 = .05
So it's easier to get standing increases the lower standing you are currently at.

I've recently worked my way up in factions where I started with no or negative standing, and .003 is less tahn I got for each mission (usually .01 to .03).
My guess is your starting forumula is wrong. 1.0 standing is not out of 100, but of 10. So, it would be more like (1.0/10)*.3 and that generates something closer to what I was actually getting (i.e., .03 increases per mission)
