Okay, so a group of friends and myself have a small alliance with a POS. The POS is held by one of the corporations.
While there seem to be plenty of options in the interface to giving alliance-level access to the POS, it doesn't seem to work. Why? Am I doing something wrong?
While Material Efficiency and Production Efficiency research seems to work (remotely), copying does not. I have heard it explained that if an item requires a component to perform the action (such as invention).
Am I doing something wrong? Or is there simply no way for the holding corporation to allow other corporations to use the labs in the POS for their full use? |

If the action means you would need access to the corp divisions, the alliance can't do it, since they don't have access to the corp divisions.

Only ME and PE jobs work at the alliance level as they do not require use of the storage on the labs, because they can be done remotely. Because, like mentioned earlier, labs act like corp hangers and are divided, so a person in a corp different than the corp who owns the POS cannot get roles to access that hanger. Thus it makes it so copy jobs cannot be done the way the alliance would like it to. Even if you did install a copy job you wouldn't even have access to the completed copies, as they would be hidden inside the lab itself, same thing for invention jobs.
Maybe someday CCP will change this but until then your only hope is to actually have the characters doing the jobs in the corp owning the POS itself. |

as other has pointed out allready, pos mechanics is bit broken...
Currently only things you can grant to alliance is me/pe research since they require no materials.
Copying/invention is not bossible due to requirements of having acess to structures in form of precess takeing or delivering something.
Hopefully CCP fixes this too, when and if they finally manage to get arorund to re-write pos code in eve. Current code is so old that no one there really knows what its doing. So they dont touch it untill they can no longer avoid it.

Your assumption that non-corp members be granted access to corp assets is a little off center, don't you think?
I don't see anything broken in the Alliance member mechanics here at all. |
