I am thinking of setting up an event for players to try some PvP without much risk. The event would teach people a bit about PvP and more importantly give them a taste of how much fun it can be. The goal is to have fun above all else.
------------------------------------------------- -Two or more corps created and declare war.
-Persons interested in the event create Alts and Join one of the corps.
-Ships will be limited to Rookie Ships, Navitas and Atrons
-Any module allowed
-Main char allowed if you are willing to eat the clone cost.
-Every weekend (Saturday and Sunday) we all meet in one of the belts in Duripant. (it would be nice if some of the Veteran PvPers would show up an hour early to answer noob questions and teach a basic class on PvP)
-All ships must be with 500m of at least one other ship at the start
-As soon as ship labeled 'Flag Ship' warps out of the area, combat will begin.
-At the end of one hour, the corp with the most members in the belt wins.
-Not sure how to handle rules on the loot floating out there. I would say dont use a module you are not willing to loose.
----------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------------------
Well I am sure there are some flaws in the idea I have not thought of. Let me know what you guys think.
I would be willing to set up one of the corps and to make avail a ton of small hybrid turrents and modules. (Have so much from missions)
Ideally, if this attracts interest, I would like one of you Experienced Pirates/B-Hunters to take the lead on this event. I am new to the game not qualified to lead this.
Thanks

I will include ships from all races. Currently trying to choose ones that will not upset the balance.

Wow, sounds like you had it all worked out!
So were the events a success? Did people have fun? Do you still do them?

Thanks for the tips Harry!
Filiberto: yes I am thinking of using a naming convention like that. Colors would work well. I am 30 min (training for corp management)away form creating the 'base' name corp. I will append to the name a color or something like alpha, omega .. etc. The other corps can just use the same base name combine it with some other indentifier such as color.
First event will be March 26th (though a mini trial run might occur this Sunday)
I am going to keep this at small frigate level as that is something I can easily support module wise. I don't have a ton of med turrents laying about but I do have a ton of small turrents and basic catagory loot.
Harry has pointed out that combat can be quite quick though, when it comes to frigate battles, so I am going to have to come up with a way to deal with this.
Mutiple short rounds might work... but there is always that re-organizing down time before each round that can quickly drain the fun out.
I or someone else will come up with something I am sure.

Tournament Corp - Black
Has been created. Based in Duripant. Anyone wishing to create another corp just follow the following naming convention.
Tournament Corp - YOUCHOOSE

You can chuck your alt in my corp. I am hoping others will also create corps (some will be open to all like mine and I imagine some will be 'reresenting' a corp and open only to that corp). If nobody forms a second corp then I will do it.
Ok, well did some thinking and I came up with a way to keep the action going. This is some of the basic gameplay. More details later.
1) Each Tournament Team Playing Creates a Jet Can.
2) In each Can an equal amount of Ore (at most = can capacity divided by team count) will be placed
3) The cans will all be at least 30 KM from each other
4) When Combat begins, the goal will be to pop the opposing team(s) cans by pulling out ore from their Jet Cans (and into their own) until the Can pops.
5) Once a Can pops that team is not longer in play.
6) At the end of one hour, the team with the most ore in their can wins.
7) During play, if your ship is destroyed, you can just get another ship and just jump back into the game. The only way you will be truly out of the game is if your can pops.
Well, I will work out the kinks soon. Must get back to work :)
One thing that I might do is to come up with a formula to counting the ore at the end so that corps that played with a small team gets some balance versus the bigger teams.

It's going to be interesting to see what kind of defensive and offensive strategies would come into play. I would think a smaller team would concentrate more on creating a defensive partrol than attempting to take the other teams ore.
If everyone plays defensive... well that would be boring and bad... I am sure everyone will be trigger happy enough though that this will not happen.

umm safe-guard (don't know why that got auto censored)
