Yep..and those sound FX are pretty crappy now.
But as announced in the latest dev blog here, at 2:50: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7FPA2Bh6g0g all of that is about to change with the NEW(hopefully awesome) turret sounds.
Been waiting for an update on SFX for ages now..so all I can say is, a big THANK YOU CCP!  |

My 800mm repeating artillery has the boring old boom sound, yet the animation is a rapid burst fire from a gatling cannon.
Oh and my gallente drones and XL Ion Siege Blaster has the same sound :P. |

most gamers are internet perverts and so turning down the eve sounds helps listen to the pron better, cant have gun shots going off during, puts me off my thing
