Few things....
1. Cyno Effect should be larger right now it just doesnt look powerful i mean hello if you zoom out u barely see it on a frig.
2. The Jump in Effect appears to be happening after the ship appears its not like the ship is materializing through the effect just like an effect playing afterward, that really pokes a hole in the effect currently.
3. I think personally extending the jump effect even a quarter second more would be very nice but thats personal preference...
4. Covert cynos and standard cynos should be distinguishable.... Perhaps by color? Orange and light blue for regular, and a dark red/navy blue for covert cynos? I think that would be quite sexy.
5. Wheres the jump out effect?
Some of these i collected from other peoples recommendations and agree with others i just point out as what i've seen, but honestly great work keep it up hope it will get tweaked to be even better. |

like habukak said(if i remember correctly that is) this build is not finished yet, and has alot of bugs and all. i'd say give it some time for them to get updates in etc.
but in the mean time, feedback is always good for CCP :) |

Are you guys kidding me? It looks awesome just the way it is. I mean, more lightning and when more than 10 people jump onto the same grid people would start crashing. |

yeah, i saw your video and it looks amazing already! people apparently are getting greedy when an update comes :S
also to the other people: first there was no cyno effect(pretty much), everybody whined, now they bring an awesome cyno effect, and you STILL whine?! |

The timing stuff I think will be fixed before release.
Whereas I'm not really into "free intel" stuff - a visual distinction between covert and regular would be a good thing. Far enough apart that reporting a sighting could be interpreted - "is it bluish or redish?" blue tone = covert. red = regular. Something along these lines - whatever the color shift difference, let it be enough that the players can distinguish it against a bright or dark background when/if they see it.
As for "bigger effects" - please don't go overboard. A small group of caps jumping might look cool - a big batch and *pftz* video goes or you're blind for a bit..
I like graphics effects and these look nice. |

The original cyno effect had lightning all over the place and I don't recall it causing crashes. |

Just an idea,
Would be cool if the color of the Jump in flash could be dependent on the Fuel that the ship uses.
ex. Hydrogen = Blue Flash, Oxygen = Yellow, nitrogen = inert (Pick a color??), HELIUM = Pink (ROFL!) |

jumping 100 blinding every pilot on grid for a few seconds actually makes sense... i mean HELLO 100 capitals just jumped it should be a massive event that is aweinspriring. |

The new cyno effect is much better than what we currently have, BUT it's no where near as epic as the orriginal.
It needs MORE lightning and lightning that extends further out.
Also agreed that the ship appears to jump in then the effect is played, I assume though this is just a bug.

i have to say the new effect is certainly an improvment on the old... but i will give the following points as per my opinion...
although i like the jumping out effect for caps, i think that the effect of the ship whoosing off into the distance while im still able to see the cloaked ship is a bit wierd. and almost looks broken.
as for the jumping in effect.. i agree it appears to be after the ship is actually there rather than it looking like its travelling through it. also the lightning stuff does give it a nice appearence and id like to see more of this in ereplacment of the red glow that appears after jumping in.. i think thats a bit overkill, take this into consideration... if there are 50 caps jumping to one cyno... it wouldnt look like a cool lightning storm of bacon death.. but a massive red smartbomb blob.. probably better moar ligntning (as this new one is cool) and no red glowing after jumping.
also.. if the old cone effect could be renewed so its nice and fresh and added in addition to the existing effect... i would love you forever.

I agree this is a start, and some things still need tweaking.
1. more thunder and lightning - use a random fractal generator for this.
2. Effect should happen before the ship, at the high point the ship appears.
3. Needs more noise remember space is being torn it needs space tearing noises.
4. moar lightning.
Finally, this is not the best nor is it the original..... however it is infanately better than what we have right now.
/ fake edit. Make this effect the one for black ops and keep working on Wrath of Gawd stuff for capitals! |

The new volumetric beacon effect looks fantastic.
The new cyno out effect is ok.
The new cyno in effect is absolutely eye-gougingly awful.
There is nothing good about the new cyno-in effect-- the color sucks, the way it animates sucks (oh look, a ship appears. Seconds later, oh look, red stuff) and it looks silly (like you took 3 existing effects and mashed them together) to boot.
Bring back the old tunnel effect (and that glorious sound). The old effect was perfect in every way-- the cyno out effect gave the impression of ripping a hole in space, the cyno in effect gave the same impression, while its giant flash of light and that heavy thunder-like sound had the perfect "you gonna get grape-ed" connotation. I'm sure if you guys just created a modern version of that same effect with nicer textures / volumetric effects and put the same sound back in, people would be thrilled. |

Same goes for the jump effect. The old one looked way cooler. Also miss the cool ship materializing... that video someone linked above from the jumpdrive is very cool with the exception of the jumpout flash. That looks way cooler in BSG (the jump effect in BSG is stunning - the series not the game).
Also what I still miss: - Sensor booster effects that won't give you eyecancer - ECCM that won't give you eye cancer - Tracking computer that won't give you eyecancer - Old style POS shield effects

We know and the Nyx stuff isn't in as it's actually made by a player afaik.
The new cyno jump effect, (which took years) looks like a smartbomb effect simply bolted on. Then ship appearance timings make it look even worse. So much for the awesome that we were promised.
