Fairly simple question about the design decisions that went into making the "selected item" window that is above most of our overviews.
When one selects a planet, why is the "View Planet" option, a button that makes a person's computer freeze and load a graphic-intensive industrial interface, right next to the "Warp To" option, a button commonly used by people trying to get away from things trying to kill them, right next to each other? Why is it made so easy to mis-click when your naked pod is out in the open after an intense fight, and load the Planetary Interaction interface instead of warping to safety?
This seems rather stupid to me, and it is an extremely simple thing to fix for the upcoming expansion. To anyone who has lost a ship or been podded because of crappy UI design, please stand with me on this one. |

Hehehehe, not long after starting to play last year, the need arose to evacuate the area in my pod. Instead of warping, as intended, I miss clicked and went into PI mode Since that experience, I have been far more careful where I click on the UI |

Please also remove any other buttons there... make it so that there is only the warp to button because i might just click "align to" instead of "warp to" when i panic while getting killed.
Not being able to hit the right button surely is the games fault and not mine.

There is a difference between hitting the align button and the PI button. The align button still affects your ship, while the PI button takes you to an interface completely unrelated to manuvering your ship. It's like putting the 'jump' button right next to the 'open menu' button in an FPS, except it's even more clunky because you are using your mouse instead of your keyboard to maneuver.
I can understand the sentiment that an effective player should have the skill to avoid pushing the wrong button, but it's still a damn silly design flaw. Nothing else on the Selected Items window causes your entire UI to change. An industrial player can take the extra effort and open PI through their right-click menu or the info screen. |

I support this. Also give us a button that you can either warp to the customs office, or access it. I hate right click the planet, warp to customs office... right click again, access customs office. |

Also: Damned accelerator is too close to the brake pedal.
It does suck to pay attention, and I have definitely entered the PI screen when I needed to GTFO, but I like the harder parts of the game. Can't say working as intended, but it's a thing we can accommodate - and curse when we screw it up,so long as you blame yourself. |

Confirmed that the view planet mode butan killed my ship once... but seeing I'm just bad at this game that might not be the primary cause. In the heat of battle a slight missed click usually does not guarantee death, always annoying losing a ship as you stare at a pretty planet that just finished loading.

The problem is not so much clicking on the wrong button, but the 5 seconds client freeze that pretty much guaranty the activation of a new clone. There is no other button anywhere on the UI that have such an effect and putting it right next to the GTFO button is just bad design. It makes me wonder if devs bother playing the game sometimes. |

LOL. I complained over 2 years ago about this on the Test Server. It's placement in the row of icons was right where the warp button WAS. Did absolutely no good of course.

That should get rather repetitive after the first 3 systems or so, methinks. |
