I was heading to my home station after a day of trading. im new to trading so I dont know the ins and outs yet, but anyways i thought id check the market one last time and seen Spirits for sale and demand in my system between 2 stations.
Sweet i thought. So i ploughed all my money int buying them only to find that the station that was had a demand for it wasnt allowing me to sell them and they were illegal.
Now whats the frikkin point of having illegal trade items if you cant sell them? i would have been broke completely except a nice hauler dude helped me out and re-imbursed me what i lost.
still if he hadnt had helped i would have been up ****-creek.

You're not the first and won't be the last.
I'm assuming the only reason that a NPC Corp buts out a buy order it won't satisfy is to create a petition queue.

Edited by: 3rdD Dave on 20/03/2005 00:00:38 So your syaing its intentional? But thats awful play mechanics if thats the case. infact its punishing me for doing slightly well at all. ive had to invest weeks in my own time to get the money i lost tonight to even make that failed transaction.
Theres rules in games and punishing players isnt one of them. IMO id like to be re-imbursed ( which i know will never happen ) so i can pay back the guy who helped me out/and do something about that ****ty illegal trade system cos its B.OLLOCKS.
Theres no point in it if it cant be used.

In a perfect world, there would be no bugs. But EVE's not perfect I'm afraid. All you can do is hope, that the new patch will fix this bug, amongst others.
Ohh, and btw, the other guy replying was being sarcastic ___________________________________________

maybe you guys can get off your asses then and do something about NPC rats shooting at me when in 0.5-0.6 space instead of sitting there watching and presumably dunkin donuts.

Edited by: Feta Solamnia on 21/03/2005 11:10:09 I believe this qualifies as a petitionable bug. If you run into a sensible GM he will see that this case is outside game mechanics (npc placing a buy order when that shouldn't be possible/can't fulfill).
My guess is that you should and will get your isk back in exchange for the items.
If this fails, you can contact me and I will compensate you (well, someone has to clean up after CCP).
EDIT: disclaimer, I have no idea what I'm writing/reading when drunk. Leaving my quite irrelevant reply just for humouring what long-term eve exposure can do to you

Instead of fitting all lowslots with expanders fit some nanofibers.
Then u have an indy on steroids. It takes less but its a heck of a lot less frustrating.
Decreases the size of your oopsies too

i got caught out by this as well. a fellow trader told me to try and sell it in Amarr space where it's illegal. i went to a region that was both under amarr and another faction and managed to dump 54k of the stuff for a small profit. i was just glad to get rid of it. ------------------- http://cys.net.au |

My favourite is an Iteron MK V with a 10MN MWD. With two tech II RCUs, you can get the core high enough and still have slots left for some nanofibers :D.
