What kind of stuff are you guys trying to pull here? What is the point of waiting 5 minutes to jettison something? It is a total waist of time. Please you guys have to get rid of it!!!

It is a response to an exploit some 'pirates' were using, whereby they would drop a large number of cargo containers in a location (generally a jumpgate) in order to lag someone flying in to such a degree that the pirate were able to kill them before the scene loaded on the victims computer.
Perhaps it was not the most elegant way to stymie the exploit, but here it is.

I say BAN IDIOTS WHO DO THIS EXPLOIT and get rid of the dumb time delay. All it does is make mining even more intolerable than it already was (most of us only do it because we HAVE TO. Not many actually think its fun).
THis is just the tip of the iceburgh. After this crappy patch, NOTHING WORKS.

It doesn't really affect mining to a great degree. Just jettison once, and then open the cargo container, and keep adding ore to that container. Simple.
I do think that this doesn't really prevent the exploit. It just delays it. I assume the intent was to make it as frustrating as possible for someone to take advantage of the exploit.
COuld be a temporarly solution until they have time to figure out a more robust solution to the problem.
I can live with it.

Wrong. Cargo containers don't last very long in space now. It's stupid to keep putting stuff in them cuz they explode in only a few minutes.
Mining is definitely screwed.

I was under the impression that a) it takes 2 hours of a cargo pod to "explode" and b) the time is reset everytime you access it.

TO the DEVS: if you have to go this far to stop someone using a Cheat, Just start giving them there ONE get out of jail free card, After that Hey you I got some great news I just saved 15% on my car Insurance and your banned.
By the way they win if the devs have to change something major just because of them.
I know to make a call like that you will surley have a record of the cotians being droped or something to CHECK the call. Edited by: Tora on 05/07/2003 08:18:32

If ever CCP allow fun to creep into the game again then it will probably be seen as an exploit. I say ban the corps that were using container exploit as they will only be looking for something else to exploit but it only arose when CCP in their wisdom removed the ores from empire space thus making it a game of survival and not the community of players helping players.
the last few patches have made everyone bad tempered due to the financial losses that all have incurred and has made people less forgiving and less helpful
the cargo containers was an exploit but still if a corp have 50 members they will still lag a gate if they are inclined to it will just take them a little longer
i wonder what will be amusing this reboot for the devs to watch us at our new fulltime jobs while they take all the money
i will be retiring in around 20 years so I look forward to the ccp ingame pension and sickness scheme now theres a thought.
ps do we get 3 or 4 weeks anual leave a year?
