Ive done carebearing and PVP'ing. My corp moved out to 0.0. without any real experience. We were veldspar and Omber miners. I couldn't even put large guns on the BS that I worked a month to get(megathron). I had to use miner 1's because I couldn't afford miner2's. I had no bookmarks. I had no insurance because It didn't last 800 weeks like it does now. Rats would spawn right on top of your head all the time in belts. If you didn't kill them quickly or were set up to chain them, they started coming so fast you were toast. I lost 9 bestowers in 1 week from npc or pvp rats. Plus indi's didn't haul nearly as much as today. A hauler used to get wore out hauling more than 2 systems. 0.0. was really hard, but that was the only place to make real money. Now you can make good money in empire.
But you know what? I still love 0.0. even if I could make more money in empire. Its exciting. Its dangerous. I still get a rush when I gate jump and there are red symbols on scanner. I like flying through hostile territory solo in an inty. I like fleet battles and ganks. I love officer spawns. I like kicking back on a afternoon and letting my alt mine to his hearts content while I protect with my main, all the while keeping an eye on local and chat channels. I like the chat channels spewing out "Oh noes, 3 enemy interceptors chasing my ship please help meh".
I go to empire to buy new kit, sell minerals and modules, check market prices but thats about it. As soon as Im finished, I get my arse back to 0.0 asap. I do think 0.0. can be a "little" friendlier by increasing the access(more gates, less choke points, means ways around gate camps). But the people who want "more" security in 0.0. have to understand that you would be doing exactly what you accuse others of doing. I mean, your would be taking away the excitement out of 0.0. space. You would be ruining other peoples fun.
Most of the people who complain about 0.0. space have never been. They keep trying to make 0.0. more like empire because theyre used to empire. Try something new, 0.0 is a diffrent style of gameplay. Its not better, its not worse, its just diffrent. At least try to adapt to it rather than the other way around.
