ok now i dont know if something like this is called a dejavue or something else.
now this is something that i have on a regular base, like this afternoon...
today i went to work and when i entered the door it began. i open the door and my secretary was sitting at her desk. now as soon as i saw her sitting there i knew what was gonna happen. she stands up scratches her head and laughs at me saying "i need vacation tomorow". and i say "ok, i'll write it down becoz i'll forget it tomorow". now to me this is weird. its a moment that "never" happened before but still you know what is gonna happen or it is familliar to you. i have these things allot... now question is what causes these "things" or is there some explanation for them.
ps: sorry for spelling

yeah i know what your talking about. I had a few experiences like this before, just sitting watching tv and someone says something. Its really weird, you just get a gut feeling that u have dreamed it before or something.
I personally believe that its something we have imagined sub-consciously playing out before us. I think psychics have a hightened sense of this feeling, and thats what makes them gifted (then u get the rip-off psychics who just talk shoit )
but i have a wild imagination........

I remember once or twice having dreams then parts of them coming true the next day, kinda freaky when you notice it. ------------------------------------------

I get this every so often, maybe two or three times a year. You really do feel like you have seen everything that is happening before and that you know exactly what is going to happen.
Usually only lasts for a few seconds and often leaves me a bit bewildered.
It's so strange, especially know you are describing the exact same thing.
Which PA character are you?

Edited by: Scorpyn on 22/03/2005 13:15:48 Hasn't happened to me for quite some time now, but it used to be a pretty common experience for me. Sometimes several times a week. You get used to it after a while.
As for explanations : Yes, there are some. The most accepted one among science people is temporarily bad synchronization with the left and right brain halves, but that is pure speculation. Nobody has any proof whatsoever about what's causing it afaik.

heh... okay make things interesting for yourself...
Next time try to notice very carefully exactly how it is you are feeling. Next, try to extend the feeling for as long as possible. Try to replicate the feeling manually later.
Play around a bit with it, once you get the feeling for it.
Try to see if you can extend your deja vous out of the immediate future, to something a little further ahead.
Have fun

Just out of curiosity, did you come up with that idea by yourself or did you read it/was told about it/similar? (And just because you said that I'm gonna try to do it consciously... maybe I'll succeed in a couple of months...)
The future is an interesting thingy, as me and a friend noticed as we practiced motion prediction by 1 of us punching towards the other, and the other trying to block the punch. Wearing a blindfold of course, seeing the punch coming would have made it too easy.

One argument in String theory speculates that our existence is but one in a number of parallel universes. Dejavu could be expressed as two or more of these parallel universes overlapping or being slightly out of phase.

That could actually explain a lot of weird stuff.

Edited by: Demarcus on 22/03/2005 19:06:54 I have had things I dreamed when I was young (like 5-6) play out 15+ years later the same way I remembered. Freaked my mom out one time when I mouthed her 1/2 of a conversation for 5 minutes starting her scentences before she said them.

thing is most of us Get up goto work come home eat sleep wake up etc etc.....
when i dream mostly i dream about things that i encounter during a day or a person i know or summin like that. think that can transfer to summin u had during ur day at work?
i think that most ppl have had a day nearly identical to one they have had b4, i doubt u could intentionally remember what u were doin for example june 11th 1999 just funny how the mind works i guess.
common example for me is ive thought about a film and with a week its for some reason on the TV. and there no always common films i think about.
i like getting that feeling tho makes me feel uber hehehe
am prolly talkin crap but i guess am just trying to help u make sense of it. -------------------------------------------------------- "I wana get down on my knee's and start pleasin' Jesus, i wana feel his salvation all over my face." - Eric Cartman, South Park |

After asking a similar question to the thread-maker, to which I found no satisfactory answer, I developed this by myself. The breakthough was realising that it is a tactile thing and thus you have to "feel".
Im sure you will yield some interesting results.

It's a nice theory, but still just a theory. I for one had several of them back in school during classes, and how many times is 1 class similar to another? The teacher rarely says the same things twice, and you don't get the same questions from the same ppl.
