Two questions really. I am back from a long time away from Eve and wanted to get some clarafication on some sec status now of Systems.
1). What is the lowest sec system in empire space that I can feel safe in that I won't get ganked? I am hearing 0.5 systems and above. Concord doesn't interfere in 0.4+ sec space or less?
2). Is there any ore types higher than Omber in empire space.

0.5-1.0 systems are patrolled by CONCORD. If you attack someone they will kill you.
In 0.1-0.4 systems sentry towers will attack you if you attack first, but you can tank the damage...the lower the security of the system the easier it is to tank the damage.
In empire you can get better than Omber roid...all the way to Gneiss I think. The best roids are in 0.0 space.
Omber is only found in "Gallente" space now so its regional.

So thats brings up another question. So if you say that only Omber is located in Gall space, then are there other types of ore located only in certain faction space. If so what are they and where?

Actually you can find omber in minmatar space aswell. Jaspet is common in 0.4-0.1 space in amarr and a few minmatar regions. Caldari space doesn't have much good ore in anything more than 0.0 space, and I don't know much about Gallente space to say anything.

Provided your corp has no war on your head, that's true.
Beware that Eve rounds up every sec status.
This means some systems shown as 0.5 are in fact 0.49 (wich makes a lot of difference, as you can get ganked in this case)

But you got highter chances to get busted, as this concern is also valid for gankers...

Hight-end ore is in 0.0 (all ore above hemophrite).
However, in empire you can get all ore types below hemophrite (included this one).
Richest systems in 0.0 are generally UNDER 0.0 (0.0 goes in fact down to -1.0 sec status).

Didn't know this one (generally I'm not in Empire {:twisted:]). A good source of minerals (if you need some urgently) can be provided through refining of loots.
Many common loots can provide you a lot of minerals, as long as you invest in refining skills...

Omber isn't restricted only to Gallente space.
While there is some regionalisation of minerals, most are to probably 2 of the Empires rather than just one.
For the Minmatar it tends to be Omber and Plagioclase I think, where as for the Amarr for example, they'll find Kernite and Pyroxeres easier to obtain.
Beyond that there's not much difference to Empire ores. On a personal note being able to get Pyroxeres in safe space does give miners in Amarr a safe way of obtain Nocxium that Minmatars and others don't have without risking 0.1-0.3 space, which is a little imbalanced.
