Hi
I basically mine, and for the moment IÆm using an Imicus.
IÆve just started playing, and donÆt have many isk. (about 1 mill)
I want a ship with a large cargo room, and as many high slots as possible.
What ship should be my next?

If you're really into mining, you should aim for barges. But that takes some time. Since you don't have a lot of money, a good bet is either the Osprey or Scythe. You'll have to train up Caldari or Minmatar frigate and cruiser. But once you do that, they cheap, and offer a mining bonus of 20%/level of cruiser skill.
They're very good midrange mining ships, and are only really surpassed by the Apoc, Armageddon, Megathron, and barges.
You'll have to save though, as you'll need several million to buy them.
You can also get a Thorax if you want to stick with Gallente, but that will require about 10 million ISK if you want to buy and insure it.

Train your Gallente Cruiser skill & buy a exequror(approx. 3M).
Buy an itty so you can haul faster.
Jet mine alot while training your Cruiser skill to Lvl 3 then buy a thorax.
Then you can worry about the training needed to move up to battleship class ships.
Its slow at first, but once you get there it is worth it.....for awhile at least:).

Cormorant - caldari destroyer
can fit about 5 to 6 named miner 1 (6 with electronic lvl5 and 8.4% cpu)
has good cargo and good cpu
price is around 1m

Gal ships have aways been a good at mining, while barges are currently nearly without equal in speed, there lack of defense makes them a team type ship in low sec.
As mentioned thorax's are a good choice and with a good drone bay and basic mining drones you can get a decent output.
Another, choice you have now which most of us didnt have back in the day is the Battle Cruiser the gal bs the Brutix offer 7 hi slot a good cargo bay strong defense and a fair drone bay these would make an excellent step before mining bs's. And perhaps as good a ship as you would need in empire until l4 missions?

If I were you, I would get an osprey or a exequror/thorax depending on how do you want to manage your skills and money and then go for the biggest barge and stay in 0.7 and up systems mining veldspar.
It might look like a joke mining veldspar but it seems that without the insignificant veldspar anything wouldnt be possible. People buy it, because they need it, in great ammount.
