After upgrading from 1077 to 1105 I can't log in anymore. After I click on the Eve Icon the Legal Screen and the Spinning Eve Screen merge into one and all the text disappears. I can find the buttons by trial an error but only to have the game say its logging in but just close. I am running a 9800pro with the latest Catalyst's. Had no problems with 1077. Nothing else on my system changed besides the Eve Upgrade. HELP! |

I am using the Ati 9700 pro and I also have the same problem! I have tried everything, Re install, manual patch, new drivers , the lot. I do not think the new 1105 patch has allowed for ATI cards, this is all I can put it down to. COmplain to Eve, hopefully if enough of us do, they may fix it quicker, bloody nightmare init.

Some users have had to revert to v3.0 of their Calalyst driver to make them function with DX9 only features. Try this! _________________________________________________________

Thanks Jehova ! 9700 pro and Catalyst 3.0 "fixed" the problem. (The driver is **** but EVE 1055 works) I dont think You can use the Catalyst 3.0 with the 9800. I just hope the dev team fix this problem real soon. Running an old driver like the 3.0 is not the solution to the problem.

A friend of mine installed the 1105 Patch with Catalyst 3.5 drivers on a Raedon 9200 and it works OK. I'm not going to load the old 3.0 Catalysts to try to get Eve to work. It will cause more problems with other programs. Is there a plan to fix this or do I just cancel my account?

Another MMOG was having problems with ATI cards. There were various work arounds that fixed most people's problems but with a motherboard bios update and the Catalyst 3.5 Driver Suite loaded exactly as the instructions list on ATI's site, there were no more problems. This might be the same problem. Go to your motherboard's manufacturer for the latest bios updates.

I did follow those exact instructions when installing the drivers and my Intel motherboard has the most current drivers. I even tried to reinstall the 3.5 Catalysts but had the same problem. Which MMORPG was having ATI problems? Maybe I can go there to gather some more info. The solution here has something to do with a change in the 1105 patch.

SWG. I don't have the link handy but got there from the support page. One of the work arounds using the 3.0 drivers might work. If you don't find it I can look up the link later.

I've tried all these solutions and am still having the same problem, I am not going to revert 3 drivers back for my graphics card to work, It'll mess everything else up just to get 1 game to work. This is not practical. Anyway, any ideas if Eve are gonna fix this F*** up? If not I will just cancel my account.

ATi 9800PRO here. Exact same problem. Tried rollback, reinstalled 5 times, used manual and automatic patches. Disabled 'LargeSystemCache' in registry, everything, hell I even changed AGP apertures in BIOS! Still can't see text or buttons in either 3.4 or 3.5 drivers.
btw, I also recieved the following Visual C++ Runtime Library error message:
"Runtime Error! Program: C:\blah blah\eve.exe R6025 -pure virtual function call"
don't know if that'll help, but I sure hope it does!

one more thing! I will try to use 3.0 drivers as a short term fix, but this does not mean that I will accept that as a permanent solution.

Some of my logs and workspace files are just too big to attach to the support page.. so I posted them on my webserver @ http://gto.dynu.com/eve
look similar to your guys? the longer u let it run messed up the larger the log and wrkspace because the error just repeats.. If a dev sees these shouldnt it be a somewhat easy thing to get fixed! comon!
Updated: I cant really find 3.0 and I'm kinda wondering if they will work for 9800 Pro?

Ya, the forum and web server always goes down, I really don't know if CCP is competent or what. They just not good in network and yet they make a game base on it. And the support is always on holiday.

I discovered this problem back on Chaos when I upgraded from client 1079 to 1080.
I posted a bug report then, but obviously my reporting skills must be lacking.
My way of fixing it is to set the game to run in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode under windows XP.
I am against going back to Catalyst 3.0 since my friends had big problems with those drivers and CTDs until they upgraded to Catalyst 3.4. Incidentally of my friends I am the only one experiencing this problem (they run Win2k as opposed to WinXP)
My system: ASUS A7V333 XP2100+ ATI Radeon 9500Pro (catalyst 3.4) Windows XP. |

Switching to Win98/ME Compatibility mode fixed the problem. I hope I don't find anything else broken. By the way CCP, THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION. It is a BAND AID. DO NOT put this problem on your fixed list. It needs to be corrected properly.
