I imagine this is going to be a problem not only with the Yulai and other highway offices, but i am guessing thats one of the offices in Stain. The only alternative is to make one of your alliance members unrent it and make sure nobody else rents one for a month. Otherwise, the rental bill will keep rising.
With the next patch coming soonÖ the office space should double. SO all you have to do is prevent all the offices being rented.
Nothing else for it i am afraid. You want to own the systems, you have to pay the real owners (in your case True Power) for the benefit.

You gotta admit you get a good giggle when a noob comes on these days and says "I'm gonna start a corp!"
So really, that makes the office rents worth it.

Oh, and by the way, its not CCP, its True Power/DED/Concord etc etc pricing them.
Seriously though, this is a good indicator of why we should be able to build our own stations in o.o, and not have to rely on the NPC framework. This adds nothing to the game except for a back-story.

all carebear corps note (you keep concentrating in empire space and not going to 0.4-0.0 space where rents for offices are lol and behold - 5-10m much cheaper than 46m where most of you are concentrated)
Solution get out of empire stop being carebears and get out to the rim lol
sensible ideas - everyone overboard

It's the best feature in EVE atm. Oh and lab prices as well.
It has single handedly made us get rid of over 100 offices. Including many in 0.0. Plus it helps to take isk out of the game... which there is way to much of.

the best solution to avoid having concentrated offices in empire space - or to have corps with less offices (more heavily used ports of call) is to raise office costs, and lab costs well most expensive in empire space - dirt cheap in 0.0 space so where am i going to go research (of course where its chepaest in 0.0 space)

As a graduate economics student, their economy works.

If you can't afford it or don't want to pay, leave the office.

Suits me. When I saw the way prices were going about 2 months ago I figured it would force people out to 0.0-0.4 space a bit more so I got there first, rented a few factories, an office and have built up a nice flourishing little market with my alt :)

Sure... if the money sinks would not be so bad in empire we could actualy use the isk to make or buy ships strong enough to even go into the rim.
I see the map too.. Exodus? um wasn't that meant for the population to be going outward instead of inward?
Pilots online 10,000.. In empire 92%, and all bunched up in 4 big blobs..
Hardly the carebears not wanting to get out.. more like the alliances coming to Empire.

ok im referring to corps - as for alliances heading back into empire its a diff story - encouraging corps (smaller ones) to head for rim space and even 0.2-0.5 space to rent their offices is a valid economic result from rising rental costs inside empire - with so much activity within empire the carebears just dont wanna leave - as for alliance wars in empire space - where the market is to replace their goods they will fight i would guess.

ccp wanted a money sink for all the cash inflow from lv 4 agents...well office rent and lab rent seem to be it...ppl have been complaining about office/lab space for over a year and nothing was done...then they had the bright idea of just increasing prices so ppl would drop them...WRONG...now they see how much that idea sucked so they decide to increase space by 50% in the upcomming patch..are we gonna get the money back we been spending on these insane rents..pffftt hell no
i log into eve to play the game...not to play to pay some crazy arse bills...there should be a limit as to how much rent can go up..say 5mill...ok fine not too bad but 46 freaking mill for rent..come on ccp fix this crap NOW!!!

No, they didn't want a money sink. They wanted supply and demand to affect prices to stop the tremendous hoarding of offices, labs and factories by hundreds of corps that neither needed nor used them, but were preventing other corps getting a foothold in the game.

V Keen valid post its to stop the hoarding that goes on most corps could probably halve their amount of offices and reduce prices and still be quite ok. Why some of them need to hoard offices is unknown ? same for labs slots etc - the economy is now taking care of supply and demand as in the real world soem people dont like rising prices but dont reduce tehri demand same dynamic here - its another very good idea to push player corps out to outer rim areas where you can get an office for lets see 5m a go not 46m ?

Have to agree - you didnt say no i wont pay that and headed for slightly lower edge spec space and pay 5-10m for office rental there so obviously the rents aint high enough yet to slow demand down
