Moved from EVE General Discussion to Out of Pod Experience - Jacques Archambault
I'm writing this post for the whole of the EVE community but probably only people who have XFire will actually care.
I want everyone to show their support for having XFire compatiable in game. Either mail the devs of Xfire (mailto:[email protected])or talking VERY LOUDLY in front of important people. This excludes MPs (they were never important)
Yours sinceraly,
Bloke
p.s. plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz.....

I'd prefer that they work on bugfixes and content. When they have finished with that they can clean the grouting with a toothbrush. Then they can work on XFire

xFire has (last I checked) a very unclear disclaimer what they collect info for. In fact, I believe it is worded like we don't sell to 3rd parties, but we could.

Sorry everyone, I've not made many posta before...
XFire is a IM designed for games. It can to use while playing a variety of games. It has a feature for ingame chat (even with different titles), such as CS. It can also help organise server based matches because of the join server option. While this worth in EVE, I have a number of friends how do play he that I can't can't to while playing.
And no, this compatiablity issue is not up to CCP. It is Xfire's game to mod the interface.

eve already allows you to add friends to a buddylist (to see when they are online) as well as all the chatting options you need. There is only one server that we all play on so theres no need to go looking for them. What does Xfire bring to the table you dont already have? ---------------------
I'd like to do your sig. You may contact me in-game |

Do you know what XFire is?
You could say any program is 'stuffed with spyware'.
It has 'game tracking' to show what you've played but it can be disabled. There is no spyware in the IM, and other users will back me up on that...

Go get/buy/steal one instead of peddeling your god damn spyware ridden @#&%$

Yes. I do know what XFire is and no, you can't say any program is stuffed with spyware because not all of them are. If it hasn't got spyware in then I was misinformed, hence me asking if it it was. _________________

I installed that at christmas.
After installing it, it just crashed the eve cleint on the login screen.
Uninstalled it and fine again. Just a dam shame it didn't clear it all out, soon as i rebooted it came back, but wasn't there to uninstall, had to reinstall to delete it again, Thankfully been fine since. Bit of a shame, neat idea. ------------------------

I'm from friggin Texas and I know what "bloke" was, I can't remember if I knew before dating the chick from Blackpool, but I think I did.
I just dont see any point to this program over a couple of other well known instant messaging applications, some of which are known to be absolutely clean of spyware and adware.

Don't really need XFire compitable in-game IMO, altho' a fix for the XFire-chat-in-game-activated=very-low-fps-since-RMR would be nice
For those of you who don't know what XFire is, then it's an IM tool, just like MSN, ICQ or whatever, but with the twist that you can see what games your friends are playing, how long you've played a certain game (total and this week), join friends game and server (handy when playing FPS) and more.

To my knowledge XFire doesn't have any kind of spyware (the thing that monitors what games you play, can be deactivated through settings). At least Norton Antivirus doesn't detect any spyware (it does from GameSpy Arcade tho ). -
