Afterall, there's no point having a laser boat if you are crap at shooting lasers. I need those skills too. So, I'm reading through all this and processing. I'll go read that skill training tutorial linked above and see if there's any way to cut that 23 day training time down a bit. Also, thanks to the poster about the +5 implant and +5 cyber info. I don't think I've trained that one. I'll also go play around with EveMon, but there's a big learning-curve on that one!
I would advice against training Battlecruiser 5 anytime soon. It is a great skill, yes, but since you not even have Gunnery at Rank 5, it would be more effective to train up the quicker gunnery and fitting skills before you take on the big chunk that is BC 5. Try to get your skills for (medium) tech 2 guns first, those are incredibly useful and give you a huge dps boost.

Same with destroyer skill, pumped that to 5 for when CCP changes it to racial destroyer skills. Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Just restart the client, if that doesn't fix it try clearing the cache (it's in the esc menu), if that doesn't work don't worry about it until after downtime.
