Edited by: Synex on 25/03/2005 17:08:34 Well, i haven't played Eve in aaages, but thought i might pop back to take a look at what all the fuss is with missions.
Does anyone stick around to pick up loot after a mission? I seem to spend twice the amount of time in my BS waiting around to pick up loot than it does to actually kill the damn things. But it seems that most of the implant drops etc, happen from the mission rats.
Alternatively, do you warp back, then hop in a frigate and then go pick up the loot?
Just wondering what everyone else finds is the best way...

I use a Sigil with a combination of Nanofibers and Overdrives. Pretty fast and >3000 m¦.

Havent seen much worth picking up yet from the non drone missions *Shrug*
From the drone missions I absolutely pick everything up. I've scored > 1000 zyd from the reprocesses on some of those metallic drops.

I pick everything up with an iteron 5, I think the whole silence the informant mission was like 3500 cargo worth of loot so that's why frigates suck to pick up loot in.

ooh, implants drop from mission rats? Actually, the hardwiring ones or attribute implants? I have seen the hardwiring ones drop from structures (in the silence the informant mission) but not from rats yet... but I'd be alot more interested in attribute implants if they drop from rats?

I pick it up you get soem nice loot especially cruiser loot, battleship loot maybe not that good but it all refines good I use an exequour cruiser to pick it up.
It does take along time though and if you were just in it to get lp's maybe its best to leave the stuff but I picked upa modulated tachyon the other day from loot thats worth about 40 mil then there is the occasional good expander it soon adds up, and last night I picked up 2 of the best named cap charges.

Edited by: Elve Sorrow on 25/03/2005 18:09:28 I'm not sure what it's called in the level4 version as i havent got it yet, but the level3 structure is called 'Pleasure Hub'.
EDIT: About picking the loot up: Bookmark a can (For example, the Supreme Drone Parasite cans in Rogue Drone Harassment), finish the mission, talk to Agent tell him you're done, and go to the bookmarks in a hauler.

Ah cool - i'll check it out.
I've been bookmarking the cans this afternoon - does anyone know if it works in deadspace as well?

Get a 2nd account in a hauler to warp to the BM so you can go on with your missions while picking up the rat droppings.

1. How often does decent loot fall in lvl 2 missions - I just seem to get crap. 2. Is it random where the loot comes out, or will it only come from the better npcs? I don't even bother looking at 5k rat loot anymore. Is this bad? 3. In a few missions there are some structures that are not part of the objectives - I've tried blowing a few up, but they don't seem to yield anything. Do they ever?
Thanks

Edited by: Threat on 25/03/2005 20:21:10 I haven't seen an implant drop on a lev 4 mission yet, but I don't blow up the structures that have uber resistances.
In Level 2 and 3 silence the informant the mobile residence or whatever its called usually drops one.
I've recently started to get my amarr and caldari standings up so I'm doing lots of level 2 missions. The loot is junk and not worth getting. In level 4 missions I fly around in a fast frig and a cargo scanner and collect good loot (tags, decent named stuff). Rarely do I find something of great value, but I have gotten a named cruise launcher, a local hull, and a few nice cap rechargers.
If you get it all you will spend ALOT of time (even using a cruiser to do pickups), but you will have alot of minerals from the refines of the loot (not counting any drone loot which is worth the time to get).
edit: Bookmark the cans, complete the mission and come back. That way you should get the bonus. The deadspace will no longer be deadspace and any sentry guns that you may have ignored will be gone.

EVERYTHING gets picked up by an alt.
That last can that is 50km away will be the one with the jackpot in.
I've picked up a 27.44% cargo expander and an arbalest siege launcher in the past week (this is after months of my attributes beign "chance of good loot =0")
99.99% of it is crap but one item like that pays for days of mission running.

I got the following from a structure can in Silence the informant mission :
1 1200 mm arty 1 Tachyon 1 425 Carbide 1 Large shield extender 1 Heavy Nos 1 10 mn ab 1 Arbalest Seige Launcher
Your Mega Afocal Pulse Maser I perfectly strikes Asteroid (Veldspar) [R0ME], wrecking for 798.3 damage.
Your 425mm Railgun I perfectly strikes Guardian Captain, wrecking for 685.9 damage.

Edited by: Kyrobi on 26/03/2005 04:27:00 I try to never leave loot sit around too long Either its in my cargo on sitting on my hangar floor. 99.9% of it gets reprocessed but you just never know what you can find in a can. Besides all those mins make excellent torpeodo and hybrid materials
Heck i had one wierd day where i got two 27% expanders from the same mission But two weeks past before i picked up another named expander...
EDIT: I use a nanofiber Iteron Mk V after the mission to do my pickups... I find the prospect of manuvering to cans in a megathron with a top speed of 116m/s well quite dull.

It works in deadspace. The trick is that you finish the mission before going back. All the structures, respawned drones / rats, and sightseeing stuff have disappeared, but the cans are still there. (Ofcourse they DO pop after an hour or two like all cans.)

I use a probe fitted with 2 nanofibres and a T2 1mn AB.Works great for most level 3 missions.
Of course most times the loot is pure crap and not worth spending the time on,so.......

Iteron Mark V 1x T2 AB, 3x Cap recharges, 1x Cargo Scanner 5x named Nanofibers
Move at over 700 m/s and can stop on a dime.
I use the Cargo Scanner on those loot cans that are like 40km out of my way.

I used to have a Mk5 for that, too, but now I got a Prowler with 2x Local Hull Overdrive and 1x Y-T8 10MN MWD. Need to be a bit careful, because overshooting a can is easy with 3000 m/s, but loot pickup was never that much fun

I'm convinced that agent loot in 0.0 is better than agent loot in empire is.
I do missions for True Power (corp branch of Sansah) and 800mm galliums, scouts, named 100MN MWD's, named large lasers and good loot in general drop en masse.

Edited by: Taco Perez on 27/03/2005 19:21:59 I always pick up the loot, as that's where the money is. Grabbed a local hull expander a few days ago from a cruiser in a mission. The alloys in the rogue drone missions usually bring 10-20M alone...
normally I'll bm one of the cans and come back in my iteron 4 (10mn ab2, shield stuff in mids, 1 partial hull overdrive and 2 local hull nanos in low - 5300M3 and 600M/s) but if all the cans are close I'll just slink my way over to them in my battleship.

Edited by: Uglious on 28/03/2005 03:06:47 In the past three days, I've picked up a +3 int implant as a cruiser drop, and a +1 memory implant as a drop, while getting a +3 mem as a reward for a mission. That's on top of enough named equipment to fill a warehouse (if I didn't refine it all for corp uses). You do the math, collect the loot? :)
Edit: did I mention that that was level 3 missions in empire?
