I don't know if this patch is to blame or myself. For the last two maybe three days I've been killing NPC haulers in the game. When I start doing this I had a + sec rating and did have it until this patch when it for some reason went -. Now you would think if I was going to drop in rating I would notice this quick since for two days of doing this I was +0.3. So anyway here I am now in empire space with a -0.3 rating which isn't bad cuz the cops haven't attack me. I can jump and dock anywhere I like. But for some reason people have not learn that when a little yellow box shows up in threats that it only means a person with a - rating is near you. So today on my way to kill some pirates cuz I really want to spend the next 8 hours a day for the next 30 days to get a 0.0 rating again cuz a NPC pirate kill only earns about 0.001 (unless you want to go after the big ones and get your ass kick after the patch... *thank you) by the way)... So outside the noobs sending me message about "why are you targeting me, and don't make me kill you!" which was kinda of funny for the 1st ten or so people... (until I ask a few who message me "are you new" and they go "no)...So ccp I have this to say.. Fix the darn rating for killing a NPC pirate to something worth while or cancel the game. Thank you.. Please feel free to flame now :) |

So...in your wise opinion, you think you should be able to get a 10.0 security rating in a day, yes?
Of course it should take a bunch of NPC pirates to kill to get higher security ratings, sheesh.

Great idea. Add it to the game and watch all of m0o prancing around high security areas becuase they've killed a few pirates. *snip*
I want, I demand, I am the centre of the universe.... and so forth. :)

Talur Lokarn, in a day.. no... but to sit here for 8 hours and killing pirates just to go from -0.3 to -0.2 is crap...

You'll go from -0.3 to -0.2 without killing a single pirate.

I feel that m0o, the gang, m3g4 and the other pirate corps make the game FUN.
I never said they didn't (although I think they cross the line many times).
BTW, The reference to M0O was a reference to all pirates. I just picked them as an example, but you knew that, right?

Jebac Wolnosc, I am sorry about my post, I blame it and my spelling on no sleep. Yes I do understand your talking about pirates in general... i just rather if this post is going to get flame be about me and not freaking m0o. But please understand my point (which I don't care about the - rating)... but if I am going to take a hit for killing NPC haulers it should have show up before 2 days of killing them... I mean I had a +0.3.. You think after an hour of killing NPC haulers I would have drop.. but to log off and come back on to notice a -0.3 is a pain... but not as much as noobs and even non-noobs wasting their isk to message me with "what your problem! don't make me kill you"... now I am not saying that I am the best in the game.. but I can still hold my own with the frigates in the game with the new patch.
and for the X dude, I been killing pirates since I been on.. which I will update this.. for some reason I went from -0.2 to -0.1 now after my log off and back on...

I would just like to point out the hypocrisy of the subject and the basis for the complaint. Think about it for a second and you will all get a chuckle. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

Newbies have to learn the game just like you once did, the targetting system is one that isn't well-documented, and can be confusing for new players.
Everyone, please respect those also posting in this thread, whether or not you agree with them. --

My luck right now, if I wait till they target me and I open fire... Every cop in the empire space would come after me... I can see it now on the 10 o'clock news :) Player X attack Osborne today... cops got confused and thought they would hand osborne his ship in a nice little box :)

what amazes me is that you are getting even 0.0001 for killing a pirate. In the period between patch 1077 and patch 1105 i have killed 1146 pirates and not recieved even the slightest upgrade in rating....I get the usual message of "for killing a blahblah you have recieved 0.0000" so much so that now if i was to recieve even 0.00001 i would be sooo shocked i'd swallow my dummy. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Inquisition Long live the Inquisition Long live the Emperor Long live Amarr!

well I for one agree to an extent. killing of easy rates could offer slightly more than 0.00001 increase is security status. I've only played the game for a couple of days. Most of my time is spent hunting rates in a 0.6 or 0.4 security system. And I've actually made several hundred thousand ISK from doing so. But I have no security status to show for it.
I know that some of the people runnng around with really high status got thiers killing rates when more value was placed on doing so. therefore I think it's fair to let those of us who are newer have a chance to make some progress without being penalized for some kind of "MOo" (whatever that's supposed to be!?!).

Until the game gains some kind of balance that doesn't get too much opponents, new players will always be faced with a more dificult situation then those before them.
First it was the Rare Ores in empire space. (most first week corps made a fortune mining those). Then it was the Not So Rare Ores. Then the security ratings from NPC killing. The weapons nerf/Fix. And im probably missing something of the same order.
Dont get me wrong, i pretty much think the game is now closer to what it should have been in the first place. But new players (specially those that try to play solo) find a slightly more dificult game than those before them.
And on the background there is the PvP issue that ultimately drives everything . (although it affects on a daily base a relatively small percentage of the players, As most can not afford to engage in wars or anything of the kind.)
