Eve Defence Force - My Honour is My Life

Eve Defence Force is currently recruiting people from across all areas of Eve. We are a Military corp with a clear chain of command whose primary responsiblity is Pirate Hunting. However, this is not just achieved through PvP. We have a multi tiered divisional structure that covers a variety of carers within eve, all of which are dedicated to providing us with the military strength to fight Pirates (and have a lot of fun doing so!). We are a mature corp (maturity of attitude rather than age) and cover time zones from across the whole of Europe, North America, Middle East and Austrilasia.

EDF Logistics: Responsible for mining, manufacturing and research.

Combat isn't everyone's preference and it also doesn't come cheap. This is why as an EDF miner, builder or researcher you'll be able to get rich while helping supply our Corporate Fleet Division with the necessary ships to hunt pirates with.

If you want to mine (or haul) the best ore there is and get paid for what you mine then this division is for you. An example of what you can earn is 938,985,390 ISK over an entire corp project (click here for our prices and the break down of how you can earn that much money).

General Operations: Responsible for organising EDF Agent Runners, allocation of personnel and EDF Sales.

With the introduction of level 4 agents, being a solo runner is no longer an option. By working within this division, you'll be able to call upon support to complete those missions with minimum risk. All we ask in return are a proportion of the implants you gain plus all Construction components you're rewarded with.

If you are interested in doing a variety of different activities and have no wish to be tied down to one, then you can be an 'Auxiliary' and participate in all our corp has to offer.

Corporate Fleet Division:

Our Corporate Fleet Division is split into two areas:

Legions: Responsible for hunting Pirates and other PvP activities.

If PvP combat is your thing, then our Pirate Hunting Legions are for you. As part of this division, you are required to be able to successfully pilot anything from a Frigate upwards in PvP. You have no obligation to remain in that ship so if you have a Frigate and the skills to use it but wish to progress to an Interceptor, Cruiser, Battlecruser or BS then you choose the speciality and we'll fund your training. all you have to do is prove yourself an asset to us. We'll do the rest.

Covert Operations: Responsible for Intelligence gathering, Counter Intelligence and Black Ops

If you fancy playing at being a spy and pin pointing targets for our Legionaries to kill or prefer to fight on the side of good but undertake more nerfarious activities then Covert Ops is for you.

Members of Black Ops must be able to fly a Covert Ops ship or be willing to be trained for one. Alternatively, you must be able to fly an Interceptor or Assualt Frigate.

Academy: Responsible for training personnel in their chosen field.

If you're new to Eve and wish to develop your skills in a safe and friendly atmosphere, then Eve Defence Force's Academy is the place for you. When you join, you'll be given all the learning skills plus associated skills needed to start you off on your carer, a ship best suited for your profession as well as a helping hand from our instructors. Upon graduation, you'll be transferred to the Division of your choice.

All members of the corp will have access to 0.0 space and can take advantage of a generous benefits package that means the longer you have been with us, the more you're able to receive. From a Cruiser to an Interceptor. A Mining Barge to a Battlecruser to eventually a battleship of your choice. This is on top of skills, clones and insurance.

So if you're interested or want to know more, either head here or talk to the following people for the appropriate placement:

  • Ageis - Director Of Covert Ops (Euro Timezones)
  • CynSage - Director of the Academy (U.S. Timezones)
  • Red Martian - Contact for Legion placement (U.S. Timezones)
  • Steelmatthias - Director of Recruitment (Austrilasian Timezones)
  • Alastria - Director of Missions (Euro Timezones)
  • Falgaroth - Head of Mining (Euro Timezones)

If for some reason you are unable to get hold of any of the above, feel free to mail me, John McCreedy - Chairman of Eve Defence Force and I will arrange a convo with you.

Sorry, I should of made this clear. At the moment, the Academy is closed. When it reopens, I or the Chief will make an announcement on this thread.

At this time, we are only looking for experienced personnel due to war.

A newbies take on the EDF.

I am just over 30 days old in the actual game I signed up for the trial a while ago and never activated the game. I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do in the game. I happened upon the forums and went through a lot of recruitment threads. Found EDF.

In a month, my character has done the following:

Particpated in the EDF Academy for newer players. Incredible learning experience for me. Started production ammo for the corp to assist the Agent Runners. End up getting involved in the Xetic alliance. Learning to Clone jump, hunting and mining in 0.0 space. Getting blown up in 0.0, clone jumping back to empire, picking up more skills.

I once thought I would be a research/builder for the corp. That has changed with all of the war decs we have received, I have found the pvp bug, I need to get the appropiate skills now.

EDF has a lot to offer, look us up.

Some questions that we asked by an applicant and answers that I provided that will, I hope, shed a little more light on us:

[Q] Are you part of any alliance? If not, are you planning on becoming part of one in the future?

[Q] What do you expect from your members?
[A] Eve Defence Force expects all its members to work for the greater good of the corp. Ask not what this corp can do for you, rather what can you do for this corp and you will recieve a generous benefits package, good company and will go far.

    [Q] Are there taxes?
[A] No. Pay enough bloody taxes in real life Wink

    [Q] Where is ôhomeö?
[A] We won't give out our operational HQ until you've joined the corp.

[Q] There are times when I just want to log in, grab a mission, shoot a few rats and log off. Is that a problem in any way?

[A] At Eve Defence Force, we recognise that people have other commitments outside of the game. To that end, we have the role of Auxilary where you can participate in a variety of task. So long as you're making an effort, you'll be welcome within our corp.

[Q] What is defined as good effort. I would like to know exactly what would be expected.
[A] You log on once per week and do missions? You hand over all the T2 stuff? You're being a benefit to us.

Log on and do your own thing and don't contribute to the corp? You're of no use to us.

I use the Agent Runner only as an example. Most of us are around the late twentys upwards (I'm 32) and are either at University or work for a living. We don't expect members to power play for 4 hours, 7 nights a week. We all have family, course work, exams, grilfriends, wives etc. to spend time with. Eve's a game and it has to be about fun.

The corp needs to grow financially in order to grow militarily in order to grow financially. One feeds into the other. Agent runners gaining T2 helps us build T2 ships cheaper than we can buy them on the open market. Minerals provided by miners help us build ships to sell to provide members with benefits such as insurance, clones, skills or ships. Researching new Bpos allows for cheaper items to be built for members and generates more money from sales. Ratting provides modules that can be sold or given out to members as rewards.

All of this makes Pirate Hunting easier.

Just because you don't play every night doesn't mean you're not contributing. Every little helps.
