Hello Today I updated my video card from an nvidia Fx5200 to an Ati Radeon 9550GU. On my old video card I could barely run 2 sessions of eve in window-mode. Now I see that I can run them ok. I then tried to log in another account to see if the computer can hold more, as a test. My surprise was to find out the login screen (where I put my password in) was kinda..washed out, instead of a space looking sky it was just a color of light blue faded. I logged in, and instead of a space background, it was all white, and whilist the other accounts were at 20fps this one was at 3fps. The accounts were all at 15bit, 16 bit Z depth, widescreen, no graphical options at all, put up for maximum performance. My computer is an AMD Athlon XP 2200+, 768 DDRam, ATI Radeon 9550 128mb 128bits. What's wrong with the third account ? Why is it acting like that ? Thank you in advance. |

Mabey three accounts just aren't meant to be...
Sounds to me like the directory the third account is using got corrupted. Try redoing whatever directory the third account runs from. But if you have them all running from the same directory...
Mabey three clients running at the same time is just too much for your card, or more likely your processor or ram. (I'm bettin on the processor)

Upgraded to 2500+ Barton and Overclocked it at 3200+ 2.2Ghz. Upgraded memory to 1024Mb. 3 clients run up, when I try to play them, one of the clients always turns white and FPS drops to 3-4 fps. When I close that client and try to re enter the game, the login screen (small window in windows) is white and blurry too.
What the ?

It's generally not a very good idea to overclock when you are trying to resolve a computer related problem...

I have experienced that problem before, and only with ATI Radeon cards. If you haven't tried already it may be worth upgrading the Radeon Drivers to the latest version, or the modified drivers: OmegaDrivers. You may want use drivercleaner to complete remove all traces of the old drivers.
DriverCleaner can be found http://www.driverheaven.net/
OmegaDrivers can be found http://www.omegadrivers.net/

I can run 3 accounts on my desktop... its a P4 3.4, 2Gb RAM, 9800XT 256Mb. I run em at 1280x1024x32 with "everything on" and multisampling set to 1 which is fine until you go into combat (for which you need minimum settings anyway) or go mining. For some reason the mining laser noise trashes the FPS down to OMG...Try..to...click...the......modules..... until you turn the sound off on each client. Thats an audigy 2 btw.
fwiw, EVE seems to chew graphics cards. My laptop gets roughly double the FPS of my desktop because it has a 12 pipeline 6800 mobile - even tho the proc and memory are much slower.

2 acounts on that card is easy. but what might be holding you back right now is your ram. i run 1 gig of ddr and can run 2 acount really smouth. but when i run 3 i crash alot. so try upgrading to 1.5gig - 2.0 gigs and see what happends

It works now after the patch. I think it was a graphical bug or something.
