I am planning on transferring a character from an account that goes inactive at midnight on Wednesday, to my other account.
The character transfer FAQ says the account has to be in an active state to transfer a character from it.
Can I transfer the character @ 11:59 PM on Wednesday or do I have to give it a little time for the transfer to take place?
Trying to get all the training time I can out of the account |

Hi there,
Character transfers take 10 hours and the account it is being transferred from must be active for the entire period. So I'm afraid you'll need to get the transfer started no later than 1:30pm on Wednesday (always a good idea to leave a little bit of leeway) in order to ensure it goes through properly. Do I need to pause training or will the character continue training until he lands on the new account? |

All skill training needs to be paused in order for the transfer to take place. ISD Type40 Lt. Commander Community Communication Liaisons (CCLs) Interstellar Services Department |

I have a Transfer Q...
I remember reading that it takes (2) two PLEX to transfer an Alt character, on an active account to an active account of it's own.
Am I understanding that correctly?
If I want to place the existing Alt into it's own account, I need to create a new account first, either by PLEX or purchase and then transfer the Alt with a or another PLEX?
There is no way to just create an active account for and existing Alt?
Thank you all in advance,
- JCC

Correct there is no way to just create an account for an existing alt. You will need to have another active account in order to do what you are suggesting.
So if you do what your suggesting it would cost 3 PLEXs. 1 for account activation and 2 for the transfer. ISD Athechu Commander ISD STAR (Support Training and Resources) EVE New Citizens Q&A Resources |

Creating a full account with 51 days on the clock is free, if you do it right.
1- create a buddy invite via your current account and select plex as a reward 2- create account and character on account 3- send new character enough Isk to buy a plex ingame 4- have character buy plex, apply plex to account, it's now a full account with 21+30=51 days 5- applying that plex gives you the buddy reward which is... a plex, so apart from some market tax it's completely free 6- now transfer your character to the newly created account (cost=2 plex)
So total cost is 2 plex, not 3 :) Amat victoria curam. |

Thank you very much for the reply. The wealth of information is graciously accepted.
However, costing 2 PLEX just to take an existing Alt to his or her own account is a deterrent, IMO. I am rather bonded to the character, as I spend the better part of an afternoon, devoted to character creation. Yet at the cost of two additional PLEX, I will just opt to start a new character.
I guess if one had an Alt that was trained for a year, but even then. IDK, I guess I'm just not clear as to the implement of such a cost.
Again, Thank you all...

I also have queries about character transfer.
1. I use PayPal to pay my subscription, but apparently I can't use it to pay for a character transfer. Why? Surely a payment is a payment - why should its purpose make any difference?
2. Why does paying for a transfer by PLEX cost twice as much as other methods?
Oh, and
3. Why does this forum keep eating my posts instead of putting them on screen? |

Sorry, I reread this and I did not get this option.
I just done this very thing (2 weeks ago) for my new account. I received no reward.
IIRC, it stated that it must be a "paid" account and not activated with PLEX.

@ Jesuis Plex is a valid way of activating an account to receive a Plex from CCP
Straight from CCPs buddy program terms and conditions
CCP wrote:Eligible subscription activations can be funded by Credit/Debit cards, PayPal, WebMoney Transfer, paysafecard, ETC, PLEX and iDeal Payments not eligible for this offer: Direct Debit, CD Keys, including CD Keys purchased or received from non-CCP sources and online stores such as, but not limited to: Steam Store, Direct2Drive, Gamers Gate, Impulse Driven.
You may find your Plex is in the redeem queue, hit escape and look for a redeem items option. Homo sapiens non urinat in ventum -á-á-á ---CCP can't patch stupid--- |

I checked it and is says nothing available.
I created the character through the Buddy Invite. After which...3 days...I sent the new character the funds to purchase a PLEX. That character, then activated the new account and it's been up ever since.
I understood it to be buy purchase only, but if the PLEX activation is accepted, then I am out a PLEX, at the moment.
EDIT : Sounds petition worthy....no? "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."

Minimum account log-in time of the inviter? What does that mean and why should it make any difference?
Although, my young character and account will most likely fall into this..."sux to be you" category. If this is in fact the case. Then a young account should not even be able to initiate a Buddy Invite, if they are going to be stiffed on the reward.
EDIT: Guess, I should have read the fine print a little closer, huh?
