Hey I was wondering if CCP would put in a sentry gun blueprint. You could sure make a killing selling them to the various empires these days. Since they magically auto-respawn I don't see why the empires shouldnt put them on all gates in every bit of space in the game.
Clearly they should have put these in before.. if they didn't want pirates they should have put in the auto respawning guns everywhere from the get go!!
Selling sentry guns is a growth market!
I mean.. duh! Pirates are bad, evil, make people sad. What is the point of having them? All they do is make people very sad. Certainly they have no place. For whose place is it to make people sad?? I think that's even against the EU constitution, the saddening of people.
CCP, I have this dog that keeps running away! What should I do about it? Oh? Cut its legs off? Ok!!
The pirate problem is not something CCP should have had to solve by placing magical guns everywhere.
It is something the players should have solved.
Too lazy to hire an escort for your indy? Too lazy to check local for known pirates before you warp to a gate? Have some sort of ghandi-like abbhorence to the very idea of having to pay tolls to go through a gate that you also can't be bothered to fight your way through?
Honestly what did CCP intend the role of player pirates to be? Sit idly by in empty space twiddling their thumbs?
Why did no large corp step up and offer to police the mara area in exchange for funds from the various interested corps? How many corps/players are around lonetrek?? Hundreds! How many players are in moo? About 20.
[paragraph removed] No flames please. -Elereth
If you can't even grow a spine in a game, where it can't possibly be broken, how sad is your real life?

Give us some game mechanics to hunt the prey in non empire space. How about deep space scanners?
In an 0.0 system with a lot of belts, planets, a sun and stargates it's like watching two blind men searching each other. ---

To answer your title, yes there are BPs for these.
the rest of you post is the typicle "Why am I being held responcle for my actions" whine.
Why not just post this in with all the other PKr's post instead of starting a new thread?
Moley, look in your map. Pick display pilots in space. See all the pilots in the deadend systems.. Those are bisk miners.. You can make billions from holding them up. There is your pray...
Oh.. wait those guys have guns... hmm maybe you would like some rabbits to hunt, would be a lot safer for you.

Enlighten me again, why can a pirate no longer ply his trade in low security space where CONCORD wont intervene any more ?
I really need an explaination for this, the patch doesn't seem to prevent it from happening.

Well gate camping is obviously the lazy-man's pirate..
Load out ship, then sit by and pod n00bs or whoever else.
Lowest common denominator in 'piracy'. I'm glad they made that sort of activity much harder.
Now they'll have to *gulp* actually learn some tactics, since podding someone will take more than *sniff* 2-3 shots. :)

No no no athren you are a giant fool. And your surname is soulsteal. You are twice a giant fool.
There are guns at every gate in a system with a non-zero security rating. And there are guns at every station. Stations and gates are the only places people go with any regularity. Therefore, there is nowhere to pirate. QED.
There's about 20 people in 0.0 space at any given time.
What did the developers intend for pirates in this game?? Certainly not pirating.
I think you're borderline retarded if you can't glean any points to actually respond to, mr soulsteal.

well I have a few questions for everyone here.
1) what make you think "piracy" is so easy? 2) why can't user check the map and look at a few simple things (people in space, ships/pods kill) and watch local. 3) Do people really think that they should be "allow" to jump in perfect freedom any place they go in eve? 4) If they do believe they should be able to jump in perfect "freedom" where no one would attack... then why do we have NPC gate pirates? (npc gate pirtes can still kill an indy or a ship.. I know... I sat back and watch an indy go pop just to steal their cargo from the NPC). 5) my last question is... is CCP planing on removing all gate pirates? and if so, why not just get rid of the belt pirates since people will start to whine about them next.

Once again, translation:
YOU TOOK MY COOKIE!!!!
Just give him a few days people. The temper tantrum will give way to hunger and he'll find something else to eat either in Eve, or (one hopes) outside of it.

There are guns at every gate in a system with a non-zero security rating. And there are guns at every station. Stations and gates are the only places people go with any regularity. Therefore, there is nowhere to pirate.
The guns will not fire at you unless:
1. Your SR is below -5.0 and the System SR is above 0.45. 2. You attack, or have recently attacked, a member of the same faction/corporation that owns the stargate/station.
So, what is stopping you sitting in 0.4 space waiting for the next hapless victim to come out of warp ? You need to go in 0.4 space prior to the patch to avoid CONCORD anyway.
In fact, I have noticed jump distances are slightly shorter, that gives pirates a minor advantage.
If you target members of player corporations only, then there is no chance the sentry guns will attack as no player corporation owns a system yet, the only real chance is you can't target n00bs any more.

Declare war!
Ohmygod probably too much work for pirates! Declaring wars and then getting the permission to fight the opponents. Yes it might take up to 48 hours, buhu. -- Champion of user friendlieness and proper information distribution Defender of newbies EVE knowledgeBase |

Also, think about it, if you are in Minmatar space and a Amarr comes through, it is highly unlikely he'll be a member of the same faction that owns the stargate :)
The linking of different empires by the Highway Gates is goingt to mean more "foreign" traffic.

I am not sure I entirely disagree with the original poster. I think sentry guns at gates in ALL .1 and above sectors was bad idea. However don't blame CCP for the massive changes to PC pirates. Instead, blame the 2-3 pirate corps that cause it in the first place. These changes were NOT brought on because of a few "Carebears" they were brought on by a few pirate corps that constantly exploited and greifed. Personally I thing the exploiters and greifers should have simply been banned instead of the changes, but the point remains that the changes were due to exploits and greifing. Made your beds now sleep in them.

Molly... this is why I said pirates don't actually play the game they just sit around waiting for victims. There is already a way to deep space scan... Learn to play this game..

"There are guns at every gate in a system with a non-zero security rating. And there are guns at every station. Stations and gates are the only places people go with any regularity. Therefore, there is nowhere to pirate. QED."
Try looking at the map sometimes. There are plenty of places to pirate. The only thing that was removed was the ability to grief, learn the diffrence.
"There's about 20 people in 0.0 space at any given time."
Look on the left side of the screen, see the icon (little picture) that looks like an M thats called the map button, pick it (use the mouse to point at it then press the left button)
There are over 280 people syndicate right now (all 0.0) space and its early.
"What did the developers intend for pirates in this game?? Certainly not pirating."
Pirating yes, griefing No. If you attack a NPC caravan you are pirating. If you attack a Player corps Bisk transport and steal it without a declared war then your pirating. If you can not understand the diffrence between pirating and griefing than your mon needs to put a cork on your fork so you dont hurt yourself. "I think you're borderline retarded if you can't glean any points to actually respond to, mr soulsteal."
ROFL.. try opening any of the other posts, the problem is after a month of explaning to people like you we finly get tired and just add lables like "caution this product may make you drowsy" to boxes of somienex (a sleeping pill).

forgot to ask tell the public how many people in stain alliance? since when it's less than 20 people? why you guys don't dare to fight them? ahh... forget you are the members of stain alliance...

There are alot more than 20 people out in 0.0 space and not all just mining. Plenty head out that way (or at least did) to hunt pirates. I hear many bragging about how much more lucrative it is (or was) compared to anything else.
But I guess I understand your aversion to trying to hijack them, they might actually fight back.
