In response to all the people complaining about ganks, and the faulty ideas to solve them, I just thought I would thorw out an idea that I thought was just so simple it had to be said:
BAN ALL COMBAT NEAR JUMPGATES.
All weapons modules are disabled when near a jumpgate. The range will be 1 km over the maximum distance capable of turret weapons. That way all guns are effectively useless even at a distance, and missiles, EVEN FOFS, won't be able to reach their target unless he just sits there.
Come on people, its so simple.
All the NPCs around them can then be taken away, removing those load times! YAY! 
Now for those of you that will complain that this will screw up wars, note that I did NOT mention that EW would be disabled. This way a group of ships using EW could HELP slow down a ship or prevent them from getting away before missiles could hit them.
Stations won't have any fields, since you can hide in them indefinetely. (Unless it's a conquerable, but even then a large fleet would be on the way to stop the attack)
Fleet battles can go on in other places. Where is up to you guys.

Why not removing any weapons at all ?? So you never get ganked.

the problem lies in the fact that all activity revolves mostly around jumpgates.
Other than ateroid fields, gates and stations, theres no where else to go.

Why not just ban combat all together? Change all the ships turret hardpoints to 'mining laser hardpoints', make it so you can't even lock another player and change every system to 1.0

For crying out loud, please tell me then where would you have combat occur then? becuase if it isnt at a gate or station, once in a blue moon an asteroid field then it aint gonna happen.
Stations people just dock, im not interested in just shooting miners, so the gate is the best solution for combat at the moment.
