Word of the Sabaoth Representitive being assigned to PIE spread like wild fire through the ranks of the loyal Amarrian corporation.
To some, Dr. Fasute Sethnakte was nothing more than a walking relic of a dark time long past. When they thought of him, they remembered the days of outright slave abuse, unchecked human experimentation, horrible bio-weapon projects, and fanatical Sarum supporters.
Now to come so far, and see the past manifested in a****ile body bearly kept alive by a hovering life support system, brings strong words from the mouths from those of the new Amarrian order. Behind him whispered rumors of questionable slave experimentation, or those of a political persuation huffed the term "Sarumite" to show their displeasure of the doctor's arrival. The most venom came from the conservitive clergy who would liberally use "godless witch" behind closed doors or within their own minds.
Did it concern the old doctor, a scientist who could bearly keep himself alive in a ship during combat operations?
He didn't think so.
He had always been convinced that good relations with PIE was the only way to better the Empire, going out of his way to establish contacts and diplomatic channels between the Gladius Legion and the CVA. Time and time again he wanted Metatron to join the CVA not just for better security but to aid the once flouroshing production department. However, the project leader of the Metatron project had his own agenda. When the doctor left the Empire to continue his studies, the lynch-pin was pulled, and the house of cards came crashing down. There was nothing to return to.
However, the Board of Directors within Sabaoth Incorporated deemed that Sethnakte's service was well enough to warrent further assignments.
A representitive from PIE was most needed.
The sudden responsability startled Fasute at first, but soon he learned that he was more than qualified for the job. Certainly some changes had to be made, but that would only help the process go more smoothly.
After looking up at the PIE tower in Mamet, the doctor picked up his briefcase and slowly walked towards his new job.
Change is good, he told himself. ______
