A lot of you will have heard of the New Order of highsec, who work to drive miners out of their habits of rudeness and bot-aspirant behaviour by bumping them out of range. If you haven't heard of us, please take a moment to read our website.
When we say we bump miners because we care, most miners think we are trolling, but we do care. To that end, we will be holding a PVP Tournament open to all miners and other carebears. The aim of the Miner Open is to encourage miners who have never PVP'ed before, due to reasons such as 'other people are too good' or 'I'm scared of lowsec' to try it, and be in with a chance of winning a 150 million isk prize. Infact, we have several prizes on offer:
1st place: 150,000,000 isk
2nd place: 75,000,000 isk
3rd place: 25,000,000 isk
1st-8th place: Free mining permits
The matches will be 1v1's held over a series of weeks that will be timed to the players availability, for example if you and your opponent are free on a Friday a match will be held then. Most matches will however be held at weekends, and we will endeavour to ensure their times are convenient to you.
The format of the Tournament will be similar to Alliance Tournaments, where teams will be put into groups of roughly able ability which will lead to a knockout stage. We may introduce ship restrictions on certain parts of the tournament (i.e. Cruisers and below for the group stages), but we don't want to restrict the freedom of the competition, after all bigger is not better.
The Tournament is open to all people with fairly bad killboards, or non-existent ones. You will be placed into groups of ability so you will begin by playing relatively fair matches.
To ensure people learn something from their experience, all entrants will receive advice on fitting their ships, that way hopefully we won't get any free slots, mixed guns or duel tanking.
If you would like to apply for the Miner Open, please evemail me (Tubrug1) stating the times you will be available to play (Days followed by eve time), and what you usually do in Eve (i.e. Mining, Misson running etc.). You will receive an evemail notifying you of your entrance into the Tournament, followed by an evemail showing you your group and fixture list, to ensure you should be able to make it to every match.

Tl;dr: We are having a PVP tournament open to bad people only with a 150,000,000 isk prize, sponsored by the New Order.

Is it permissible for a bumper/shareholder who happens to be a carebear take part?
My killboard is pretty bad  , even worse I only seem to show up on Battleclinics KB
I have a sizeable quantity of each of the noob ships that I've been hoarding, these will be available for a comedy destruction derby after the finals if you deem it to be a fitting celebration.
Tubrug you can expect another prize as soon as I get one sorted and if the destruction derby sounds interesting evemail me with a location so I can organise delivery. |

Sounds like a good celebration, it's possible for either friend or foe of the New Order to take part, including bumpers or shareholders, and your killboard is quite bad so you're welcome to take part.

Yes, deffo. Nice idea guys. I'd like to join if allowed, I might stand more of a chance than that lowsec frigfest on Saturday (my first taste). I will Evemail OP tonight with my details, times and KB. I can see a mass exodus of the belts with this type of thing going on. We actually get to play the game properly like grown up capsuleers.... well, kind of ;)

I dont think their discriminating aslong as its a miner, cuz~ well atleast many that have joined the competition are friends I have in the gallente region that I mine next to every day so I can vouche for those, but either way doesnt matter its all about good fun. x3 |
