Hi, I have recently trained up for T3 cruisers, and am now specializing in the Tengu. I am interested in doing some Wormhole pve in it, probably C1 and C2 holes, maybe C3 later on. I need some help fitting it, I have been looking around the forums and loadout sites, and getting mixed opinions in terms of CCC rigs vs Rigors an Flares, Large boosters vs medium or dual small, and the presence of propmods and painters. Can i hear some advice? Warning: Hyper-Elitist Egomaniacal Space God. |

Can do c1 and c2 sites just fine with a one small booster (faction) and afterburner/omni resistance with damage rigs. has no problems with wormholes with negative shield bonuses as well. |

thanks for the reply. could you possibly rate this fit for C3 work? i have just used it in some C1 and C2 sites and it seemed incredibly easy, but i'm hesitant to just jump right into a C3

One thing to keep in mind; Is to not overly pimp your ship, unless you can afford to lose a couple of them. Cos, you WILL lose that at some point. |

he has a point! if you can find a friend in another tengu and RR them, easy to do with 2 RR t2 fit tengus and the cost of the 2 ships is far less than 1 solo tengu! |

You're gonna make someone very happy when he finds you and he will find you much sooner than you'll be able to make the isk back. You can easily make a full T2 fit with large shield booster that has all the tank a dps needed for a c3 and it costs about three times less isk than the pi+Ķata of yours.
As for your questions, I prefer painter and ccc rigs. |

That is one pimp fit. I prefer a bit more cap stability for C3's With the Tengu's range you can mitigate much of the neuting. But you still get some and sometimes if you goof you can end up too close and have to burn out of neut range before you cap out.
I used this fit in a C3. It was still generally overtanked. But I typically triple boxed (2 of these, one cloaky scout) so I liked having something I could just turn everything on and not micromanage, so I could focus on watching for enemies.

I primarily fly in small gang C4 with spider tanking but can reconfigure to a solid active tank. I find 2xCCC rigs to be a boon. C3 and C4 will neut you. The T2 CCC rigs over the T1 variant opens up module slots. At best, I use T2 modules - no faction gear.
Try out a few sites and adjust accordingly. Everybody has their own style and comfort zone. |

Are you planning on going solo? if so id look at a Drake.. the reason is a tengu fit to solo a C3 for example is very expensive, 5 launcher ones you can fit for about 1.5 to 2 bill, a 6 launcher one your talking closer to 3 bill!
The other problem I have with a tengu is even with decent DPS, a 5 launcher (the cheaper setup ones) do rubbish DPS when you consider you can fly a drake 300+ DPS for just over 100 mill, or you can use a 1.5 bill or so sub 400 DPS tengu.. i cant even see 25% extra DPS worth the risk, not if your just starting out.
In an idea world you would find a friend with a drake or Tengu and remote rep fit them, about 500 mill t2 fit RR tengu in a fleet of 2 is solid, I have even done it in 2 drakes and that was good also.
BUt if you want to go for tengu and nothing ill i can send you some fits in game if you mail me.
As for c1 and c2 sites, wouldnt bother, if you can fly the ships you can fly, your max Isk an hour will be c3's, also in C2;s with the 2 statics your chances of a tengu death goes up, even tengus have feelings you know!
Know how it is though, you can fly a new ship and you want to try the tengu, in WH space why not PVP fit the Tengu and PVE a drake, you will make more money in the long run i bet, simply because you wont loose loads of billions of isk tengus and skills when you die. |

Perfect tengus I think is RR fleeting them like above mentioned, they cost about 500 mill rather than 2 to 3 billion for a solo tengu fit.
Also the cheaper tengu fits only have 5 launchers, do crap DPS so you would be better in a drake, the 6 launcher ones cost so so much by the time you farm a load of sites, even if you loose it once in your first month you will be behind, so for that reason id use a drake..
However yer you got a new ship, you want to give it a go, PVP fit it? run drakes on c3's or.. 2 people in RR tengus, or 1xRR tengu and 1x RR drake works fine also.
If your hell bent on Solo tengu though mail me and ill send you fits
My fit above did C3 sites fine (can solo although i generally dual boxed). Does good dps, enough tank, and came in at maybe 1 bil, so not that outrageous for a T3. |

Here's how you fit a Tengu to survive in a C1-2:
Select a bunch of shield mods and missile launchers and damage controls and ewar mods in your hanger, open your fitting screen and throw all the mods at it. Whatever sticks will be fine for C1-2 sites. |

Funny but very true. C1 and C2 are really easy to solo. Heck you can solo them in a drake or cane. C3's can be done by two cheap remote rep battleships if you like to be lazy.

Poasting in Tengu thread #423434322342..... Seriously though search function would answer every tengu, loki, legion and C1-4 question.
To be nice.
I used to solo C3's in a T2 fit tengu with large T2 booster, nothing faction is required at all just get it to roughly 30% cap stable and it will not have any issues apart from the 2 scram radar and mag last waves.. But please fit some faction gear to be nice for when you farm them without proper precautions and the inevitable gank happens. |
