Just buy a PS3 and don't care whether it will come to PC or not.
No money for a PS3? Perhaps you shouldn't be worrying about games, but about getting a job then?

This is sad but true. I've yet to see a FPS game that didn't use P2P connections to handle gunfire and combat, which in PC terms is a hacker's wet dream. FPS on computer isn't a matter of actually hitting a target. When you aim a target, fire, and hit it, then all that happens is your PC sends a message to their PC saying that they were hit. There is no server oversight. It doesn't take long to figure out that any half-witted script kiddie can completely bypass the whole "aiming" part and skip directly to having their computers tell every other PC on the other side that they've just been hit for a bajillion points of damage. Or simply telling their own computer to have magical glitches that ignore any data packets telling them that they've been hit & killed. This is why I don't do FPS on PCs. EvE Forum Bingo |

PS4 is not a threat or a concern.
That is the problem. None of the next gen consoles will be. They will be too expensive - too incompatible with already purchased/existing games libraries and have drm that will make ubisoft look like beginners at annoying people.
As I have posted elsewhere: Valve will release hardware and your current idea of a console/loungeroom gaming will be changed forever.
Everything will have to be PC compatible or eventually die off. The advantages for the consumer will be huge.
Your current steam library and all future releases will work on your PC and what you will soon call a 'Console' - you will have the same saves , achievements etc synced and updated on both at once. All your games will work on both and you will only pay for them once, ever - even when you upgrade. Sony and Microsoft are too greedy to even think of this idea.
Big Picture and all the controller compatibility etc etc you are seeing Steam add is all to get the interfaces right for their new device.
Dust will end up on PC. How long do you ignore your existing paying customers for just to chase some possible new ones?
Here is where the logic of DUST on PS3 only really fails: I would pay a one off purchase price for a pc version like many others here would - but I'm not gonna spend a cent on the ps3 aur store ever. So they get to make nothing instead of maybe $50. Good move guys.
CCP have ignored us all before and had to eat humble pie (Jita monument protest) They are doing the same arrogant thing here again. Fix this **** See Sea Pea. |

I am sorry to be the one breaking the news for you but have you considered that you might not be the target of Dust 514? Maybe CCP are seeking a new audience for their FPS game than they have currently recruited for EVE?

I have a PS3 and DUST still sucks on it. Might play it on a PC though. |
