 Hi peeps, lastnight I found a wormhole and took a peek inside- nothing it was barren - scanned localy and still nothing.
What did i do wrong?, no riches or mighty battleship spawns to crush with my first frigate.
I did find a new roid belt heavly populated by NPCS which decided not to like me and they attacked - my civ pulse laser had little effect and due to the flames coming from my mighty craftI left the area.
Did I just luck out with this worm hole or did I miss something?. |

Many wormholes do not have very active players, and a lot of them are just not player populated at all. WH corps make up a fairly small percentage of the EVE player-base, so it's not like known space where there are people all around you.
A T1 frigate will stand absolutely no chance against sleeper drones, you need a well tanked T2 cruiser or T3 ship to run WH sites on your own (maybe a battlecruiser for the lower-class ones but I'm not sure). Wormholes are a very skill intensive area, and a lot of the major corps require millions, sometimes even tens of millions of skillpoints just to be even considered for acceptance into their corp.
Basically, don't venture into w-space until you are ready. |

Here is a good wiki about most things in Eve. Eve University is also a good start for beginning players, but definately don't stay too long in there. There are also plenty of other corporations where you can enter with low skill points that offer specific training, albeit with different methods than eve university.
For instance if you're into pvp then Red vs Blue is a fairly good highsec pvp starting corporation. If you would be more interested in nullsec then you could try to find a corporation in the TEST alliance (I'm pretty sure there are other alliances that would take you as well).
Just search around in recruitment forums (eve recruitment forums or eve uni recruitment forums).
Just try to find a corporation as quickly as possible because it will increase your fun in Eve a lot. Also do not pay any isk to enter a corporation, just skip that corporation is they ask for isk and look for another one because they are just trying to scam you. |

So, after finding a wormhole which did not want to be found I went inside.
Seems I was not wanted and my ship blew up.
What the hell was a DED customs office doing there?
Also the sentry guns of the sleepers stung very hard my frigate died in one blast and my only way out went with it - my scanners- probe flinger.
Had to kill myself to escape, hope Jimmy savile don't find my corpse.

Ok, so lastnight i went hole hunting and found 2 in a 0.9 system.
I popped in with my trusty heron and scanned down a sight with sleepers, and killed them all with my navy geddon alt.
The salvage was very good I got aound 20 mill in isk for the stuff and this was from 6 small sleepers and 6 crusiser sized things.
I then scanned down another site and this was a lot harder, infact I had to retreat due to massive damage from 3 siruis? sentry guns and 8 cruisers.
I do believe some corp was already in this area due to the customs offiices have a corp name in the tag?
Very impressed with the way the ships attack as they seem to increase and decrease distance very well and they really got pissed at my drones.
Anyhow getting very good at scanning things albeit slow - I get the job done.
Radar and ladar sites still hard to find though.
I like doing this part of eve, it is the unknown that's so much fun.

Yeah, Sirius turrets hurt.
If you are having problems finding sites i recommend to train Astronometrics to IV and the rest of the supporting skills to III. I assume you know this already.
Also buy the Sisters launcher and probes. Money well spent.
I'm the happy user of a Heron but soon i will retire it to fly a Buzzard.

Sounds like you went in not knowing what class of wormhole you were in. If you continue to do it this way you will end up in a C5 site sooner or later and die before you can even align out (which won't help because the sleepers will warp scramble you).
Reminds me of a guy we met a few weeks ago... he spent about an hour probing in our C5, then suddenly came in with a Tengu and what turned out to be a 3-billion Vargur. The Tengu warped into a C5 mag site and died within seconds. Luckily we could save the Vargur from such a shameful death by pointing it at the wormhole and giving it a proper death in pvp battle.

Whoa! lastnight was close
I took my alt into another worm hole flying a blackbird because I had a thought all was not right.
Two hacs waiting for me on the inner side
As I was still cloaked from goin through it gave me time to look at the situation, if i could get them away from the exit for a few mins I could escape back.
Hitting my after burner I fled into the worm hole and cringed as they both locked me up but at least they started to follow me away from the exit.
I then played my ace and jammed them both , they kept following me and we got futher away from they exit.
Going into full chicken mode and nearly soiling my pants I fled full pelt back to the exit and made my escape, I had timed the exit timer to perfection.
So Now i think for the next 2 weeks one shall fly to gallante space and run some missions as my -4.58 standing even with full diplo skill trained needs seeing to. |
