So on my 5 accounts I have never really ran missions due to 3 being miners and 2 being stuck in wormholes however I stupidly agreed to grind my mates mission standing with him. So here goes.
Last night we ran the worlds collide lvl 4, we only did one branch however it look about 45 minutes from start to finish. I cannot understand how?
My friend flies a drake mainly as a target with large passive tank while I fly A 'pure dps'-á
Tengu-á
Highs 6 Hml
mids N/a for this issue
Lows 4 x CNBC
Using scourge missiles I only get a measilly 580dps
Where am I going wrong Hm skill v Hm specialisation v-á
I was expecting to run it in about 30 minutes tops, we did get the good faction overseer and 35m loot from him however
Kind regards
Nab

Using low-dps missile ships would be my guess. Shiva Furnace - recruiting again! |

Level 4 missions are all about knowing the triggers and what's coming up next, and mission runners get that experience by doing the same mission 100 times. Keep practicing. |

which version of Worlds collide? The serp/gurista or the Angels/Sansha? also what are your rigs on the tengu that may matter also.
edit- did you have more trouble with BS's or the Elite Frigs? |

It was the serp/gur version from the caldari navy.
I shall check rigs when I'm home as if I'm honest I think they will be defensive (field extenders more then likely) seen as my shields never got below 97% maybe there unneeded.
I just know all these missions shouldn't take as long as there takIng
If I changed to t2 rigors and caralyst that may knock 5 or so minutes off? Maybe add a faction tp? |

Warhead Upgraded to lvl4 at least gives you a 2% damage increase per lvl.

if it's a straight DPS ship go with target Painters to help with smaller targets. pain to switch on and off...and check your missle projection, target Navigation Prediction, guided missle precision. You should be going a little faster than that. I also like to switch to Scourge Rage missles once I start shooting BS's to up the damage. |

As you said, you are likely way over tanked. You should be around 30% shield during peak inbound damage. Also, passive drakes tend to have wimpy DPS. Bet he is over-tanked too.
As others said, missiles is your basic problem. For each kill, you probably also lose a salvo of missiles that is mid-flight. That means you are actually using 4-5 salvos on frigates. Ouch.
All that said, 45 minutes for one of the hardest missions in-game is not that bad. I wouldn't frett too much. Just balance the tank and DPS better. |

You're using two low-DPS ships. Of course it's going to take a long time. A tengu is not a "pure DPS" ship. |

You really need to add a turret ship to the mix. The ability to insta pop frigs and 2 or so volley cruisers makes a big difference to mission times. Not sure of your mates skills, but even a low skilled pilot in a domi with sentries and some rails will see a decent change in completion times. Alternatively you could fit the tengu to hit the smaller targets and get a raven to shoot BS's, but you will need decent skills on the Raven to see it work well. |

1. Possibly check your targeting range versus your actual missile range. Just because you can target it, doesn't mean your missiles will hit it. 2. There are some long travel times in the WC mission, if you don't have an AB it will take awhile to reach the gates and targets. BTW, a faster moving ship reduces incoming DPS. 3. You do not have to kill all the ships in the first room. |

580 DPS isn't very high for a mission ship. Not bad, but is well short of what the top end ships can do.
You don't say what version of worlds collide. Kinetic ammo might not be the best choice.
Worlds collide has a lot of frigates that you'll be doing reduced damage against. And you only have 5 drones from the Drake. |

This. Use implants. With my skills 4 cnbc and t2 heavy's i get 790 dps with +5% implants. I think that's the max unless using +6% implants but that's prob waist of isk. |

I run dual box HML tengus and get 700+dps from each using T2 ammo. I never use target painters as i switch to faction ammo when killing frigs and have my tengus riged for Rigor/Flare.
Normally i kill all frigs with faction ammo then swap to T2 scourge rage when killing anything else.
I set my tank up for about 400dps but also 600m/s speed tank. |

Same here. I think I do the one branche (Serpentis side and final Guristas room) solo in about 45 minutes in a Tengu.
My setup does around 680DPS with T2 Heavy missiles (Kinetic) and 3 Khanid BCU's, I switch to CN Scourge for (targetpainted) Cruisers and down, BC's take only 2 volley's from T2 fury missiles, BS's obviosuly more. Got a rigor and calefact catalyst and some shield rig on it and no implants (yet). All missile (support) skills at either lvl4 or lvl5.

Pretty sure that if you Uber Tank and have the Hacking card (whatever the NPC's name is), you can skip the initial War Zone, slow boat to the gate as you tank and jump into the final room where you have to kill like 6 ships if memory serves. So yeah, read up on EVE survival if you're in it for the blitz.
It's possible to do it in about 15 minutes or so that way (typical Mael fit). Quality Assurance RECRUITING OPEN |
