I was looking to train assault frigs soon. I was hoping to train one weapons class only, and my skills are good for armor tanking.
I had heard that the amarr ass frigs were a bit crappy, so i was wondering if it was worth training up my gallente side instead. Does anyone have any reccomendations or comments between the two races?
tnx.

You only need frigs 5 in either race to use both, for a Character with decent learning skills that's not even two weeks of training...

If you have good drone skills, u can go for an Ishkur with rails, damps and drones (for frigs). U can fit either dmg/tracking mods or an armor tank in low slots. The Enyo is also a very nice ship too, the only catch is you will have problems with blasters cause of the optimal range and speed.
I also tried both amarr AFs, liked the vengeance more since I couldnt come up with many setups with the 1 med slot retribution. I prefer beams on the vengeance and pulse lasers on the retribution.
It all depends what you want to do with the ship actually, NPC or PvP, solo or fleet battle...

amarr AFs are gimped. Vengeance is probably most outstanding case of uselessness. No dmg, no speed, no ...
Retribution is nasty ship... fit one med slot with web or disrupter and you have excelent killer... but not really frig ship as it is slow and... but 900 armor really help alot.

The Ishkur is a good ship but i think you need to fairly experienced to take it into pvp and be successful. I haven't flown an enyo yet but from the stats it looks good on paper.
Generally I would say the Gallente AF are much better for solo/small group operations than the amarr variants. Their slot layout means you can be a lot more felxible with their role.
The retribution is a nasty nasty ship to fight against and is very nice when part of a larger frigate group.

I would really like to see myself what an 'ass' frigate looks like.

Personally I LOVE my Enyo. Ishkur is nice, but for fleet battles. If you are going solo, I say enyo it tanks sooo well. I had 3 Taranises on me and they couldnt get me past 90% armor. I know in my experiance you generally dont have enough time to deploy drones before the enemy is dead . And it happens even faster with the enyo. But really its your preferance. If you like raw fire power then enyo is your ship, if drones then ishkur is the ticket.
