We've got warp disruption bubbles, why not webs too?
They'd behave just as you'd expect them to, but with a smaller radius than warp bubbles. Maybe a large web would have about the same radius as a medium warp bubble.
To combat the obvious ridiculousness that would come with combining the two types of bubbles, I can see two possible solutions:
1. Make web bubbles unable to anchor/activate if they are within the influence of a warp bubble. This prevents massive overlapping, which would make getting out of a warp bubble even harder than it currently is, but would allow some overlap if they are positioned correctly. -OR- 2. Regardless of anchor position, make the web effect superseded by the warp disruption effect. This way, under no circumstances could a player be affected by both bubbles, no matter how they are positioned.
I can envision many uses for such a module. Gatecamps - Make it even easier to catch autopiloters and assuming option 1 above, make it harder to escape warp bubbles Industrials - Anchor one outside a station/gate to enable quicker warps for fat ships Miners - Anchor one in your belt and slow down those pesky bumpers Fleet - Drop one on a slow moving fleet [Sniper/Armor BS] to again enable quick warp, as well as hinder incoming enemy fast tackle
I'm sure there are more creative ways players could think of to use these new mods as well, and I'd love to hear them. |

Make the web bubbles bigger.
They are not so much a trap as a deterrent, and I can see people wanting to fight inside of these on purpose.
Especially if they have trouble against speed tanks.
Enemy can stay and get pounded, or warp off. Assuming they don't get pointed first.
The extra size is balanced by the fact an enemy can leave at any time, and stays only by choice. Cloaking being on a ten minute manual cycle timer? (Author: Bree Okanata) Fine. As long as there is a ten minute timer for being docked in a station. Also, you can't stop moving in the game. Just add in a way so every ten minutes you are randomly warped to the nearest other player. Keeps people from going AFK. |

I guess you do have a point about making them bigger, as it does make sense.
I had proposed making them smaller figuring people would cry "OP!" but in practice it does seem like something that'd want/need a larger area of effect. |

I endorse this idea. |
