I plan on having an Alt dedicated to scanning. I want to fit the Vexor for running the sites in HI/Lo Sec.
This is what I have (on paper), but I remain sceptical as I really don't know what limits of sites and missions it is capable of handling. I assume the Vexor can handle L2s and 5/10s but I am too new to really know for sure.
This is a variation of this fit. Without the scanner, I should be able to beef it up and do more with it.
[Vexor, Site Runner]
Medium Armor Repairer II Energized Kinetic Membrane II Rat Specific Energized Kinetic Membrane II Rat Specific Drone Damage Amplifier II
10MN MicroWarpdrive I Analyzer I Codebreaker I
Civilian Light Electron Blaster Aggro only Improved Cloaking Device II Salvager I Medium Nosferatu II [empty high slot]
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I Medium Drone Speed Augmentor I
Hammerhead II x 6 Hobgoblin II x 8
Now....What do I need to change and do different?
Thank you in advance. You guys helped me tremendously with the Cheetah fit. I can't express enough gratitude.

It looks like a good start. Don't put T2 rigs on a Vexor though; they're going to run several times the cost of the ship.
Oh, and it's not going to have a chance in 5/10s. 4/10s maybe (though cap is going to be an issue without any rechargers/batteries/CCCs and mounting a MWD). 5/10s are actually quite nasty as far as incoming damage goes. |

And YES! Those rigs are waaaay too much for this. Good Lord! I hadn't put together a package cost yet..lol
That is something I will do when a solid suggested fit gets together and buy enough to fit 10 ships. I already have 11 Vexors in waiting, that I got on a deal of 5m ea.
Thank you again for helping a new player.

I feel my next move will be into the Navy Vex and from there into either the Gila or the Ishtar.
The Gila is quite easy to get into, with a new character, which is a surprise to me. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."

Why don't you have guns on your ship? Fix that and you'll be fine for 4/10s. For The Blood 4/10 I'd go with sentry drones, but you'll figure out the best ways to run the sites once you get some experience.
I'd keep profession modules on my scanner alt, frees up midslots. In any case you could keep the analyzer in cargo, and swap to it when needed. Shiva Furnace - recruiting again! |

I would remove the analyzer and the salvager for more dps : magnetometric sites are not worth the time. |

In low & null they most certainly are worth the time.
In hisec, nothing is really worth the time in the end, but it's a good place to practice exploration. Shiva Furnace - recruiting again! |

This ship was originally set up as an All-In-One exploration vessel for Serp / Gur sites in Hi-Lo Sec. This is the suggested fit from the link in the OP, thanks to Jonny Pew and Sir Livingston.
Vexor, High-Sec and Low-Sec exploration] Medium Armor Repairer II Energized Thermic Membrane II Energized Kinetic Membrane II Energized Kinetic Membrane II
Analyzer I Codebreaker I Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I
Core Probe Launcher II, Sisters Core Scanner Probe Salvager I Improved Cloaking Device II Medium Nosferatu II Civilian Gatling Pulse Laser
Medium Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Hobgoblin II x8 Hammerhead II x6
The Drones are all of the DPS. With the OP installed in EFT, it shows a DPS of 180. The scanner Alt doesn't have the capability to add anything else, without the sacrifice of a low slot for a power module.
This set up is indeed practice for 0.0. I intend to run both ships as a tag-team, with one in Cloaked AFK at any given time. The Alt will enter the new system to scout, scan and set up bookmarks. At that point, the Alt will Cloak Afk while the Vexor comes in to meet up, get the site information ( jet can?) and run the sites. The Alt will never enter a site.
So, there is no room for anything else on the Alt and thus no room for any guns on the Vexor. Granted, I could alter the fit for both, to accommodate conditions for Hi Sec, but I want to run these as if I were in null.
I have seen different people comment on the use of Centuries. I must look into the use of those.
My main concern, along with DPS, is if I would actually be able to tank the sites. I have accepted the limit of 3/10's. JP states that he runs 4/10's with the above fit. I'm sure that one of lesser skills and experience will be quite handicapped. But given that I removed the Scanner, I thought I could increase my chances with them.
I appreciate the input thus far. I assure it doesn't go without merit.

I can recommend that fit. Very cheap at 8.63 Millions according to Pyfa. Cary an analyzer and a codebreaker in your cargohold and fit it for the hardener if needed (and offline the salvager for more CPU) It delas 462 DPS and tanks 144 DPS with my skills. Enough for most smaller sites. |

Use your rigs slots ALL for Tank and drop the MWD in Favour of a AB and you're golden. Thought, not sure why you would need a cloak of High Sec.
And if the MWD and Cloak is to gate you thru lowsec, you're scum for using a tactic that should have been nerf'd LONG ago. |

That is a lot better. More slots in the Mid and Low. More CPU...
Verry nice. However, I feel I may have advanced into another vessel by then.
Still, either way, the link is welcomed information. "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning."

I've completed the Gurista 4/10 site in a Vexor - but it was painfully slow compared to my Ishtar. It can be done, but expect to lose drones (especially in the second room if you send them straight for the telescope!). Fortunately, a shiny drop made it all worth while for me on that one occasion..
I won't try it again... |
