Just saw this on the XF Forums, and to be honest, I'm disgusted. No one will EVER tell me what i can and can't do.
And so i post this thead to let you all know, and prove a point, (although i admit it is in a childish way, so don't bother pointing that out)
XF, don't try and take away our civil rights, you will lose.

yeah its just foolishness, Yori gets a bit of arousal me thinks from power, lets all play how the council wants to play. If u just want to tell us what to do, kick all of us out, and be a 2 person alliance mining in those 5 regions, for about 4 minutes. So this is time to look at a word we have here in Canada, now it is a strange word so bear with me. *AHEM* its called "compromise" i think thats right, yeah. Work with your members, not against them, and remember kiddies its just a game

Thats the problem with large groups of people, you are going to have a few that disagre. I hear FA will even fine a member who posts here.
When I was PA we had a no posting rule but no one really cared. Bottom line is it's a rule created because an alliance can't discriminate on EVERY member among it's ranks. You may like Corp "x" but they almost always have a member or two who feel the need to post BS on the forums without knowing what's going on.
Anyway with alts it's pointless and just works to oppress people, and thats never a good thing in the long run for Corps or alliances.

by the way, i've never seen this shinra corp before, aren't they a mining corp or something, i heard something about them camping the roids in yulai. I dunno i dont think they deserve respect. Time for them to go back to counter-strike and farm roids like good gimps there

If you look at whats hapening you can see that all the hard core pvpers from most alliances have joined up with bob and co....but the care bears are in stain/xetic and some minor care bear groops here and there....but the people that where leening a bit to the fighterside but less to the care bear side are all up in the north......then again some hard core pvpers are in xetic,in the next fiew days i can see a change in the winds there will be a mass out flux of pvpers out of xetic to join bob and aloot of miners trying to join bob.....then some of the hard core pvpers out there that havent quite figured this out them selfs will read this and probly aply to supremacy/shinra or some of the bob corps.....i my self have no time for eve at this curent state...Back to you dew girl

Same thing when I was in Stain, I remember when Curse broke up and we had all the Naps someone from Stain was in alliance chat saying Stain members are not to post on the forums if they disagree with this subject.
One of the reasons I left, no one tells me how I am going to play the game I am paying for, sorry the power has gone to their heads and they cant handle constuctive criticism.
This is a game for crying out loud and the forums are part of the game. My advise leave and join up with a corp that lets you play the way you want.

I can do nothing but agree with the majority of the posts.
However: I have been in a particular situation where i was requested to stop posting on a particular thread beacuse of fears it would be detrimental to the corp. I am in the corp. Therefore anything detrimental to the corp is detrimental to me.
I sincerely hope that people arent confusing a request to stop posting with a direct order to stop posting. The two are very different.
Yes it is possible that CEOs and directors end up on a power trip. But its also possible that they are trying to do what's best for the corp.
Look at both sides of the coin before you put it in the slot machine!!!

TBH, even though im shinra, i think that xetic should have their right to speak their minds on the forums. No one should be able to dictate what they can and cant say. whoever stated that is obviously power-hungry and wants to be able to controll their people without question.
Like i said even though you are my enemies, i would suggest that the people within the alliance who are not too pleased with this try to do something about it. dont let them tell you how to play your game xetic, make your points clear.

Sometimes there is a good reason for having your alliance members hold their uninformed tounges.
Say the leaders of X alliance are trying to negotiate a settlement with Y alliance. Then a few pilots from X alliance can't stop blabing in this forum about how the Y alliance are nothing but hacks, cheaters and baby eaters. This ****es off the Y alliance members to the point of telling their leaders that a settlement is "out of the question" regardless if the settlement is in either or both of the alliances best interest.
In that kind of case, the people who just cant resist the urge to spout their opinions in this forum have basicly screwed sideways the efforts of the people who have (usually) voluteered their time and had the balls to field the responsibility of leading an alliance.
I say that if someone cant keep their mouth shut at the request of thier alliance, they should be given the option to leave the alliance or take over responsibilty for that alliance.
I think 99% would respect their alliances wishes or quietly leave.

There are tons of laws in the US that are outdated or unenforced. They do get invoked from time to time when they are needed, so it is important to have them on the books. Although it might not be universal, it is important to have a law on the books that permits the use of gag orders when they are needed.

These two posts sum this entire topic up for me. These two individuals efforts have most certainly been affected adversely by forum smacktalk by characters and "rogue" corporations within an alliance framework.
People need to realize that in-game wars are fought, won, and lost on the public forums.
As a general rule, if you want more heat, turn up the rhetoric. If you don't want the heat, then stay silent.
But then again, it is quite fun to gank a person that has smacktalked your character or corporation on the forums. Even better when I do it with an alt character that they don't realize is me

Just so you guys all know, this isn't something Xetic just cooked up. It's been in the rule books for months and months already. Dunno wtf Cartif is on about but it's never stopped anyone from posting here yet. And it was a law passed through a vote, its not something Yoristar dreamed up all by himself

Naw, it is only a small minority of people who post on the forums. As such, the impact of what we say on the large number of people who post on these forums in small. Wars are started because of opportunity and need, wars end because of defeat.
Take a look at current events. Plenty of countries talk smack about each other, only the ones with relatively poor leadership go to war over just talk.

But that being said, I can see why they would start a policy like that, I mean, as it is, whenever an Xetic member makes a post, regardless of what it's about, it gets flamed from here to Yulai by you-know-who...

Then there is DDC in additon that think they are in an alliance....

we have all 40 Acounts and we are only 100 Gamers
DDC is also an altcorp of us. But we put only chars in which we trained for PvP.
als others are mining in yulai.
